" You did amazing, as always, Doctor Ziegler. " Blue eyes looked over at the voice, smiling softly.
" No one in this profession can afford to not be amazing. But, thank you. " She spoke as she held her hands cupped, as to not let the blood on her hands fall. Blood had found itself on her hands during the surgery, and by protocol, she had to clean them, even if she didn't have a high need for cleanliness. Pain exploded in her side, almost too much for her to bear. Forcing herself to stand upright, holding her side with one arm. Fire was everywhere, not to mention the broken machinery that, a moment ago, worked perfectly. Walking through the rubble in a stumble, her breath was unstable, the taste of iron indistinguishable in her mouth.
Angela's hope was fleeting as she had not spotted any person whom had even the slightest chance of revival. It was only when her eyes landed on a body, someone who was her friend, with no sign of life in them.
" N – No- Gabriel ! " Rushing over to him as fast as she could, she ignored the pain of her sprained ankle. Instinctively, she placed her hands above his heart, pushing down a couple of times. Then, quickly, she tried to breathe air into his mouth, repeating this once more. Falling back on her knees, tears slipped out of her eyes silently.
" G – Gabriel—, "
" –Who's Gabriel ? " Angela shook her head when she heard them, looking over for a brief second, before wiping a tear away. Hastily cleaning her hands, she dried them off as she exited the room rather briskly.
" No one. "
