Faded music from Emma's phone rang out into the silence of her bedroom. First day of school. Sophomore year. Let's just say this year wasn't going to be fun after what had happened over the summer. She followed in her father's footsteps and became a part time model for her fashion designer mom. As soon as Emma's picture popped up on the front page of Teen Vogue, she began getting loads of attention. It started with gaining more followers on Snapchat and now the paparazzi practically followed her everywhere. She couldn't even eat a croissant in peace without seeing a flash of a camera somewhere! Emma groaned and slammed her fist down on the glass screen of her cellphone. She rubbed her eyes and looked around in the darkness. "This is going to be a great year," she mumbled, wishing she could just go back to bed.
Meanwhile, on the the other side of Paris, Chad De Lesseps was waking up for school as well. Maids surrounded his room, opening curtains allowing light to shine through the windows. The satin sheets on his bed made him want to lay in bed forever. They surrounded his body with warmth and comfort. The double doors to his bedroom bursted open and in came his butler, Alfred, with his breakfast. Today was his first day ever going to a real school. A real, public school where he could meet people his age. "Good morning, your highness. I've brought your breakfast. Your clothes have been cleaned, pressed, and folded. They are on your dresser. Your schedule is right here," Alfred told Chad, handing him a slip of paper containing his schedule. "Have a good day your highness." Alfred left the room and the maids followed him, leaving Prince Chad to get ready for the day.
Emma flipped on the lights on in her room and tried to find a descent outfit for the day. She found a black sweatshirt, galaxy leggings, and black chuck tailors. She grabbed her purple messenger bag, which she's had since she was in 6th grade, and left her room. She walked down the hall and stopped at her brother Louis' door. She banged on the door. "You're gonna be late if you don't get up now Squirt!" Emma shouted. "I'm up, I'm up!" Emma could hear her youngest brother mumble through the door. She let out a chuckle and kept walking down the hallway. She walked down the stairs and made her way into the kitchen. "Good morning Princess." Emma knew exactly who it was without even turning around. "Good morning to you too Papa," she replied. Emma's dad smiled and hugged his little girl. Emma pecked his cheek and hugged him back. He let go and kissed the top of her head. Emma grabbed a freshly baked crossiant and some grapes and sat down at the kitchen table. Just as she thought she would be eating in peace, but someone slammed down a pile of book, papers, and folders on the table. Her brother Hugo scowled as his sister devoured her meal. That only made Emma more annoyed than she already was. She chewed her food without closing her mouth, making loud chomping noises. Hugo pressed his hand against his ears and ran from the kitchen. Emma swallowed the large amount of food in her mouth and laughed loudly. "EMMA SABINE AGRESTE! WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO YOUR BROTHERS?" Emma stopped laughing when she heard her mother scream. "Uh oh."
Chad stepped out of the bathtub and dried his hair in a towel. He wrapped another towel around his waist, covering the lower half of his body. He walked over to his vanity where his servants were already starting crowd around him again. One was brushing his teeth, one was combing his hair, and one was powdering his face. Once they were done, Chad shooed them all away. He had enough of people doing things for him. He wanted to things for himself. He was ready to go to school and have some responsibility. Escape from royalty which was nearly impossible since the paparazzi followed him everywhere. He locked the bathroom door and walked back to the vanity. Chad looked into the mirror. He hated how his face looked. It didn't even look like him anymore. Just another clone of a perfect prince. He wiped the powder off his face and ruffled his hair. That was more like it. He smiled at himself. Handsome, as always. He had always thought he got his looks from his father, Leopold, the king of France. His mother had always told him that he got his looks from her but he never believed it. Everyone knew that Chad's father was the more good looking one. He put on a gray t-shirt which showed some of his developing muscles. He put on a pair of ripped jeans and some brand new gym shoes. A casual outfit that people wouldn't even think he was a prince. He would look like a normal teenage boy.
"EMMA! WHAT IS GOING ON?" her mom yelled. Emma took a few steps away from her raging mother. "So what if I woke up Louis and annoyed Hugo? They totally deserved it!" she smirked. Emma's mom was fuming until her dad came behind her mom and kissed her neck lightly. He was the one in the family who was into giving everyone hugs and kisses. He loved doing that. It seemed to calm Emma's mom down. "Emma please try to be nicer to your brothers, okay?" she said. "Okay mama. I promise. I gotta go, I don't want to be late for school!" Emma exclaimed, running back down the stairs. "Bye kitten! Have great day." She stuffed her much into her bag and grabbed her skateboard from the front door. She ran down her front stairs. Emma mounted her skateboard and put her helmet on. She started skating down her street at a rapid speed. She was going so fast that she didn't see where she was going...
