"Honey, can you come help us a minute?" My mom hollered as she and my dad came in the house.  I walked downstairs to see what they wanted and was startled to see my dad holding a dog. She looked like a skeleton with fur draped over her.  She was dirty, matted, and seemed to be having a hard time breathing.  I gasped.  "Where did you find her?"  "She was at the edge of the woods just laying out in the open.  Since it is so late, we'll have to wait until tomorrow to drive into town and take her to the shelter," said my mom.  She went and got a blanket and laid it out on the couch for my dad to set the dog down on.  I went over and pet her head.  She looked up at me weakly and her tail wagged a little.  "We are going to go finish our walk, you look after her while we're gone, okay sweetie?"  "Okay mom, have fun," I said as they left.  I took the dog and the blanket up to my room and set them down on my bed.  I went back downstairs and retrieved a bowl of water and some leftover turkey for the dog.  I came back upstairs and offered them to the dog, but she just ignored them.  She must just be tired I thought as I laid down next to her to relax.  A few minutes later, my mom texted me.

Mom:   Did you offer the dog some food and water?

Me:       Yes, but she just ignored them, I figured she must just be tired.

Mom:   Well keep trying, she needs some nutrition in her.

I herd a sound almost like someone screaming.  I looked around and the sound seemed to be coming from the dog, except the dog seemed to be asleep and her mouth was shut.

Me:       Mom, I think something's wrong with her.  She's making a weird noise but her mouth is closed and she looks like she's sleeping.

Mom:   What kind of noise sweetie?

Me:       It sounds like a person screaming.  It getting louder now, but she still hasn't moved. What's happening?

Mom:   Maybe she has a radio collar on hidden under her fur.

I reached over hesitantly to the dog and felt around her neck.  I froze as I felt something that should not be on a dog.

Me:       Mom, she has a zipper on her neck.  It is sewn into her skin. Mom, what's going on?

Mom:   A zipper?  She must've been owned by someone who did cruel things to animals.  Did you figure out where the sound was coming from?

Mom:   Honey, why aren't you responding?

1 missed call from Mom

Mom:   Jessica, answer your phone.

(20 minutes later)

Me:       Mom, call the police NOW

Mom:   Honey, what's going on?

Me:       The dog was a robot.  The sound was from her gears getting hung up on something.  There was a red blinking light in her. A guy with a mask came in the house.  I'm hiding in my closet right now. He did something to the robot and took it out, but he's looking for me now. Call the police.

Mom:   The police are on their way over. We are on our way back. Stay safe and be silent. We are going as fast as we can.

When Jessica's parents got back home, the police were already there. They informed her parents that she had been attacked by a dog and was killed. However, there were no signs of a dog, or a person. All the doors and windows were locked and there were no fingerprints or paw prints anywhere. 2 months later, Jessica's parents adopted a dog and were murdered the same way as their daughter.
