Six days ago his world fell apart. Four days ago he said to him his last goodbye. He hasn't seen him since and he will never do. The poor boy never expected that he would lose him too. Six days ago he lost one of the most important persons in his life, that person was his brother.
Now he doesn't know what to do, he doesn't know how to act at school. His name is Alex, he is sixteen years old and his life has fallen apart.
Alex doesn't have a lot of friends. He has four and one of them happens to be his girlfriend. His friends are worried sick about him. He hasn't spoken since the day his brother passed away and he has stopped eating as well. Yesterday he had a break down and now they are keeping their eyes on him. They don't want him to have another one and if he does have one they want to be there to offer him their help.
His friends know that if Mark, Alex's brother, was still alive everything would be different. No one would be so worried about him. Alex doesn't like people worrying about him. He feels like he doesn't deserve that kind of worriment. This is the impression he has thanks to the way people actually treat him.
Once again Alex finds himself lost in his thoughts. He is laying on the floor of the kick boxing room. As he lays down he realizes how big this room is, he realizes how spacious the house is. He had never noticed its size. The reason behind it is the fact that there were always people in this mansion. It would be his friends, Mark, their cousin named Marty and probably Marty's partners. But since that awful day the mansion is empty. Marty works very hard in order to forget his grief, leaving Alex alone in the house for most of the day. He has no problem being alone, he's used to it. He is alone at school because no one wants to be around or even hang out with the fucked up orphan but there's no love lost. Alex doesn't enjoy his classmates' company either. Most of them are idiots who think that because they are rich they can do and have anything.
This is not how it goes. Alex is rich too, truth be told he has more money than that an individual's mind can comprehend. Having power, even if your power is based on money, means to help people in need. It doesn't mean that you can act like a brat, bully them and act like you are superior to them. When you have any kind of power you have to use it for the common good.
As Alex thinks about the old days, back when Mark was alive and they were all joyful and the house full of life he suddenly hears someone walking on the upper floor. At first, he gets excited thinking that his brother had left his work early. Sadly, reality strikes harder than the last time.
"Silly Alex", he thinks to himself, "your brother is gone and he's not coming back. You will never see him again. Never."
Then he hears the same footsteps on the stairs. Whoever these footsteps belong to, they're coming down. Alex doesn't even bother to get up and check who's coming. He doesn't care who they are. Even if it is a serial killer or a bunch of thieves. What will they probably do? Hurt him? He can't feel a thing anymore. He doesn't feel pain, he is numb. Plus, he has nothing to lose, basically not nothing. He still has his cousin but he's not there right now, so he has nothing to lose.
"There he is.", a very familiar voice says.
Alex immediately recognises the voice which belongs to his girlfriend, Lizzie. It seems that she and the rest of their group asked Marty to give them the house key.
"Alex?", a male voice speaks up, which Alex recognises it too. This is Frank speaking.
Alex hums in order to show that he pays attention to them and that he is not completely lost in his thoughts.
"Are you alright Alex?", a female voice asks. This voice belongs to Catherine.
"Of course I'm alright. My brother died six days ago so is there any reason I shouldn't be alright?", Alex responds with a sarcastic tone.
