If You Only Understood

Chapter 3: We're not that much alike.

We hit the bottom of the steps at the same time. Running to the stools In front of the counter with two ham and cheese sandwiches sitting there. Seeing who would get there first. I won obviously.

"You two must be really hungry" Lenzie's mom says laughing at us and watching as we peel the crust off of our sandwiches in unison. " You two guys are so alike. Is that why y'all are best friends?" We look at each other and both laugh extremely loud.

"Mom were nothing alike i'm all happy and she's..." She paused examining me with her light brown eyes. "moody all the time." saying with a light giggle. I lift my head up and give her a I would kill you but your moms here look. She rolled her and continued eating.

"Well you guys both hate crust, which I don't understand because its healthy." We both looked at her waiting on her to continue. " And I would've gotten wheat bread but you guys hate that too."

"Ha it's okay wheat bread still loves you just the same Ms. Matthews, no need to worry." I say with smirk on my face before running up stairs and Lenzie following behind me.

I didn't have any clothes to change in so I wore some of Lenzie's. A green crop top that said love life and some dark jean shorts. They were a little too short in my book but Lenzie begged me to wear them. I slipped on my Sperry's and looked in the long mirror leaning up against Lenzie's bed room wall.

"Sadie your so pretty" she stated leaning on her back and leg stretched out on the floor to keep her steady, with her head tilted to the side. Her elbows placed on the corner of the bed and shoulders shrugged up.

I rolled my eyes a turned around to were she could see me. " Yea...okay." I say not believing her comment.

She rolled her eyes back and stood up. "So where u wanna go." I shrugged my shoulders. "I could call Jamie."

"No" I spoke loudly shocking her making her jump. "No...no that's fine."

"Okay... sorry I asked. You know she's not that bad, she's pretty cool."

"Cooler than me?" I questioned with a small smile on me face waiting for her to suck up, moving towards her sitting on the bed.

"I don't know she might be." I look a her and pushed slightly making her tilt a little but she  kept her balance.

" That's not funny, you know i'm the coolest person you've ever met."

"Yea you are but your the coolest cuz i'm too cool for my self and I might freeze."

"Your so lame." I responded with a laugh and rolling my eyes. "Let's just stay here and watch tv."

"Okay fine then lets be boring." She said lying down turning her attention to the TV.

"Fine then let's be." I say before sliding to the soft carpet floor and leaning my back against the side of the bed staring at the tv.
