Chapter 9: Four robots

Depuis le début

I rolled my eyes, motioning for Kaleb to continue. His face turned hard as he spoke, and even Matt shut up. "This guy is the leader of a major gang. He, apparently, has some history with your family. They never got along after high school. He didn't tell us much, just that. Anyway, he's gonna ask you some questions. Now, don't be scared." I laughed, and they both gave me funny looks.

"What the heck is so funny?" Matt asked.

Oops. "Oh, nothing. I just don't get scared often. And I honestly don't think a guy as tall as a peanut that walks is gonna scare me."

Their eyes widened. "Jessica, don't you dare disrespect him. Only answer his questions. Wait, don't. Lie. If you wanna keep yourself, and anyone you love, safe, just lie to him. But don't look him in the eye, because he will be able to know what you're thinking." What?

"Does he have superpowers like you, Kaleb?" Kaleb groaned. Matt looked confused, but a little bit of amusement danced around his stormy blue eyes.

"I don't have super powers, Jessica! And no, he just has a lot of practice."

My eyes grew to double their size. "HE HAS PRACTICE?! HOW MANY GIRLS HAS HE KIDNAPPED? DOES HE DO THIS TO ALL OF THEM? HOW MANY GIRLS HAVE YOU KIDNAPPED?!"

They both covered their ears. "Holy crap, woman, we haven't kidnapped anyone but you!" Matt said.

"Yeah, and he has had other people kidnapped others. But, apparently, you are super important to him." Kaleb said, eyeing me like I was going to burst again.

"Why the heck would I be important to that scum bag?" I asked, my brows furrowing.

"Honestly? No clue. But... we have to go."  Kaleb said.

Matt started to go everything over with me. "Don't talk back. Lie to his questions. Don't look him in the eyes. Don't shout or disrespect him in anyway. Try not to be scared, but act like you are if he does anything to you. Don't-"

I cut him off, "Do anything to me?"

Kaleb rubbed the back of his neck. "Oh, yeah, he has a... reputation... of hitting his kidnappees..."

"AND YOU GUYS DIDN'T THINK THIS WAS IMPORTANT BEFORE?!" We had just started out of the house.

"Sorry, Jessica. But... we are gonna have to tie you up so it looks like we haven't become friends. When  we get there, struggle against our hold, yell profanities at us, whatever. But NOT to him." Matt said. You suck at changing subjects, Matt.

I really had no choice, so I slowly nodded, and the stopped me in the middle of the sidewalk. They started tying my ankles and wrists, before gagging me. They decided not to blindfold, because it was just going to cause trouble.

As we slowly walked down the sidewalk to the house next door, both boys talked about random stuff. Including things I really didn't want to know. Like what, you may ask? Like the hottest girls they know... Some people named Ellie and Roxy? Oh, dear lord.

I rolled my eyes, being pushed into the baby blue house. After we walked a couple steps, I realized this was the kind of place I imagined to be owned by a kidnapper. All the walls were black with thin white lines drawn haphazardly. All the furniture was black too, with some white here and there. Everything that wasn't either black or white (haha that's the name of a Michael Jackson song!) was a really dark shade of green.

As I had first imagined Kaleb and Matt's house, this house had food boxes everywhere. There were things thrown around everywhere, and this place looked like it hadn't been cleaned since before Miley Cyrus became interested in the... wrong kind of things. There were clothes everywhere as well.
