Noah's POV

I juggled the boxes precariously as I moved towards the van. I grunted as I lifted them up, shoving them into the moving van before heading inside for more. I'd finally found a secretarial job in a city nearby, and I was preparing to move as soon as possible.

By the end of the day, what little I had was packed up and boxed, and I was traveling down the road to a new future. My nerves raced as I glanced around, watching the trees fade to houses, and the serene peacefulness make way for the bustle of the city.

I knew living in the city wasn't the best idea, but at this point, I was all out of options. I looked down at my stomach, smiling softly as warmth spread through my chest. I had to remember why I was doing this. What I was working for was far more important than anything else.

The van pulled into the driveway and I stepped out, admiring the house. It wasn't big, bigger than my old apartment, but it was perfect for a family of two. Family. I chuckled, my nerves gone and my heart racing.

The thought of a family brought excitement, joy, happiness, and many other feelings that flooded my mind and fluttered in my stomach. I sighed, entering the house. The furniture had already been moved, and was set up in the living room and bedrooms. Other than that, the house was empty.

The workers had already begun to unpack things, so I figure it would be safe to leave and check in at my new job. The short walk to the elaborate building was a good chance for me to see the city. People moved quickly, not waiting for anyone but themselves. Loud chatter floated through the air as people talked to one another, or spoke into their phones.

I picked up the pace towrmards the end as the bustle of the city became overwhelming, my head spinning from the excitement. The large building loomed over me as I stared up, the black marble seeming to go on forever. Sleek black doors glistened in front of me as I struggled to open them.

"Want some help?" I jumped, turning to the voice behind me. A large man towered over me, his face a mixture of confusion and amusement. I sighed, nodding slightly and allowing the man to open the door. He gestured with his arm for me to enter, following behind me as I gasped. The main hallway was a breathtaking sight, the modern, sleek design much different from anything I'd seen.

"Impressed?" The man grinned at me, watching my reaction. I turned, nodding as I clasped my hands around my stomach. His eyes trailed down, following my hands as he stared for a moment. "You're... P- pre-"

"Yes. I am. Your point?"

"No... I was just surprised." The man's reaction annoyed me, my cheeks puffing out in anger and embarrassment. This was the first time someone called me out on my pregnancy, and I felt slightly self-conscious. I walked away, not wanting to be stared at any longer. The woman at the front desk smiled, immediately asking for information. "How can I help you?"

"I'm here to see a... Liam Prince?"

"Hey, that's me!" I groaned, turning to the same man who had helped me just moments ago. He grinned, holding out his hand. "How can I help you? I mean, besides opening doors for you?" I frowned. This man could not possibly be Liam. But, as I continued to stare at him, another familiar voice called out to me. "Noah! I'm glad you're here!"

Mrs.Prince smiled at me as she held out her arms. I gave a weak smile, Liam groaning behind me. "Mom? What are you doing here?" Mrs.Prince scowled at her son. "In order to keep you on task, I hired Noah to be your secretary." Liam inspected me, his expression different now. His cold eyes glared at me as his mother continued. "He'll help with your schedule, and keep you focused. That way you can be worthy of your future wife."

"But, mom I-"

"I want a child, Liam. Either find your own wife or I'll choose one for you. And believe me, I have a whole list ready." I could sense the tension between the two as I listened to the conversation. Finally, Mrs.Prince gave me a final smile and sauntered off.

Liam scowled, his brows furrowed and his arms crossed as he frowned at me. "Well then, show me the way." Liam didn't move. I sighed, beginning to see where this was going. "Come on now, to your office, Mr.Prince. I'm sure you have a busy schedule."

Hefting my bag, I began to wander down the hall, inspecting each door and nameplate. Liam refused to move, passing workers giving him strange looks. I made it about halfway down the hall before the cramps kicked in and I slumped down, my head spinning. Pain ran through my stomach as my vision hazed.

"Hey! Are you okay!? Noah!" As I sat there, Liam had run to my side, feeling my head and grasping my hand. "Idiot," He mumbled. "What were you thinking? Don't overwork yourself." He lifted me up, carrying me back down the hall and towards the elevators.

By the time the cramps had gone away, I was sitting on a couch in an office. Liam sat behind the desk and watched me intently. I sat up, rubbing my head as Liam walked over. "You okay?" I nodded, smiling weakly. "Yeah... Thanks."

Liam sat on his heels, his eyes moving up and down my body. "How could I let you be my secretary if you're gonna faint halfway down a hallway?" I tapped his head playfully, watching his worry disappear as a mischievous grin spread across his face. I think I might actually like this job more than I thought I would.
