Cinderella, you shall go to the ball!

In a meadow a beautiful women sat along with her daughter under the shade of fully bloomed tree. The mother smiled contently down at her daughter who's tongue poked out as she concentrated desperately as she knotted a length of yarn together.

"That's right darling and now you need to knot that end and its finished." the mother tenderly instructed.

"Like this?" the child asked tying a knot.

"Yes that's it. There you go it's finished!"

The little girl held up the bracelet made from wool which had six wooden beads woven onto it, pleased with her work.

"Can you help me put it on mummy?"

"Of course I can, hold out your hand for me."

Doing as she was told the little girl held out her wrist which her mother secured the bracelet onto.

"There you go Uni, now if anyone ever asks 'my, my! Where did you get that stunning bracelet?' You can just reply-

"I made it myself!" she giggled. "But mummy, why have you left so much extra string?"

"That's so that as you grow up you can still where it." she smiled.

"Then I'm going to keep wearing it forever and ever and ever!"

But that happy moment, was a long, long time ago...

~Present Day~

"Uni! Have you swept the courtyard yet!?"

"Uni! I need you to press my shirt my again, you missed out a couple of creases."

"The horses need feeding first, I wish to go for a ride this afternoon. So my horse will need grooming when I return!"

Uni had to clench her teeth at all the constant orders. I can only do one thing at a time! But of course she couldn't say this out loud otherwise her 'father' would be angered. Her brothers and father were far from being related to her by blood. They were merely an adoptive family, however they treated are far from a relative.

She was treated like a slave. She did so much and yet received next to no credit. It was at testing times such as this she longed to be in the past with her mother, when she was still alive in that content meadow.

Holding the bundle of washed cloths in her arms she bowed her head slightly, quietly answering "Alright, I shall see to all your needs as soon as I am able."

"Well soon isn't good enough!"

A gentler voice however then interjected "Brothers I have some inciting news that should interest you."

"Exactly what news do you have James?"

Glad that James had come to her recuse Uni gave a silent sigh of relief, quickly taking the chance he had bought her to leave as he showed his brothers a letter. As usual the rest of the day consisted of her being busy carrying out many chores, such as sweeping and moping the floors, tending to the animals and preparing meals.

Come the end of the day she as usual collapsed on her bed exhausted. Laying on her back she held up her wrist gazing at her worn down bracelet, despite her crafting it when she was younger it had stayed securely woven thanks to her mothers guidance.

"I miss you mum..."

~The Next Day~

Giving a gulp Uni delicately knocked on the door of the main drawing room. Her fathers venomous voice barked from inside.
