Chapter Twenty Five

"Look, you can see him or her right there. The baby has gotten bigger since last time right, Darshay?"

"Most definiely." She responded.

I smiled as I saw the little baby move around in Darshay's stomach.

"Are you okay, Jacob?" Darshay asked me.

I nodded. "Of course, this is amazing." I said, grabbing her hand and holding it.

She smiled. "I'm glad you think that."

"The baby inside of you is about the size of a kidney bean," Doctor Green said, laughing a little. "You can see that they're starting to grown the arms and legs in this stage. Next time you come, they're hands and feet should be webbed."

"Wow, this is awesome." I muttered.

"What are you guys hoping the gender would be?"

"I want a little girl." Darshay said.

"I want to have a little girl too."

"I hope you too get your wishes," She said, smiling. "Would you two like some pictures?"

"Of course," Darshay said, pulling her shirt down. "Can you give me three sets of pictures?"

"Yes, I'll be right back."

"So how are you feeling about being a dad?" Darshay asked me.

"Good, I said. At first I was skeptical as hell but now I'm excited to be holding my little girl or boy in my hands in a couple of months."

"Yeah, me too."

"So with your blood pressure, are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine don't worry. It's probably just some stress."

"What are you stressed about?" I asked. "If you don't mind telling me."

"Just from what happened these past few weeks," She replied, looking down at her nails. "I do miss you and Brielle, a lot."

I sighed. "Darshay-"

"No it's fine. We don't have to talk about this if you don't want to."

"Look, I still have feelings for you and everything but I just don't think we need to be in a relationship right now. I'm still hurt you know."

"I know you're still hurt too. If I found out that you've been cheating on me with my best friend I would've been beyond pissed. It was all of my fault and none of Chresanto's. I made a mistake that I wish I could take back but it's too late. My worst nightmare is my reality now."

"I'm sorry, Darshay but I can't see things working out for us right now. Maybe in the future but I just want to focus on the baby right now."

"I understand, I can work with that, I guess."

Doctor Green walked in and passed both Darshay and me copies of the ultrasound. "Thank you, Doctor Green."

"No problem, guys. Make sure you all schedule another appointment in about two months, okay?"

"Will do," I said. "Do you need a ride home, Shay?"

"No, I'm fine. My mom should almost be here to take me to work."

"Alright, I'll talk to you later. Stay safe, please."

"Okay, bye Jacob."

"How did the appointment go?" Brielle asked, jumping right at me when I walked at the door.

"It went good." I responded.
