Year One

Chapter One - Acceptance Letters

Seokjin -

From the moment the small boy had rested his eyes the night before to the very moment his alarm had sprung him awake from his deep slumber and so on, he had been thrilled. Today, he would find out if he had been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

"Jin-ah, don't get too excited. There's always a chance you won't get in." His mother spoke as she watched the ten year old munch down a rather large bowl of fruit loops.

"But i will, mum! How can they reject someone as handsome as me!" Seokjin giggled with a mouthful of the coloured cereal and milk dripping down his chin.

"You're very right there, honey. But looks don't get you good places in life, unless you want to be a model.. but definitely not a magic school. However, i am certain you will make a fine wizard." She beamed, wiping the child's chin clean. Seokjin let out a small hum as a reply and finished off his cereal before darting upstairs to change out of his dirty pyjamas.

After changing into a Mario shirt with denim jeans, he made his way downstairs. His mother stood at the kitchen table with a letter in her hand.

"Mum, did i get in? Is that the letter from Hogwarts?" He smiled, making grabby hands at the yellowish sheet that his mother was clutching.

"I'm so proud of you, Jinnie." She handed the acceptance letter to her youngest son, tears welling up in her eyes.

the letter read as follows:

'Dear Mr Kim,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.

Yours sincerely.'

"I got in!" He yelled before pausing "How did it get delivered, mum?"

"By owl, too bad you missed it." She spoke, making the smaller frown.

"There's another letter here too, i think it's the list of you're uniform and books that you need."

"Can i read it?" He asked as his mother handed him the list.

'UNIFORM
First-year students will require:

1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)
2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
3. One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
4. One winter cloak (black, with silver fastenings)

Please note that all pupil's clothes should carry name tags.
