Chapter One
"Skyler Marie, you're going to be late for school, get up now!" Yelled my mom from downstairs. I quickly glanced at my beeping alarm clock. Why didn't I wake up to it. I had had this alarm clock for a long time and when I got it I made sure it was very loud. The clock read 7:19, school starts at 8:00 and I normally wake up at 6:30. "I'm coming mom" I responded quickly and ran to my closet. I changed my nice, warm pajama shorts into a pair of dark blue skinny jeans. I put on a white short sleeved shirt and quickly tied a maroon, navy blue, and white flannel around my waist. I brushed my teeth and brushed through my long brown hair. I left it down because I love my natural waves. I quickly swept a little mascara on my eyelashes, slipped on my white, low- top converse, picked up my backpack and phone, and ran downstairs. I grabbed a poptart from the cabinet and heard the car honk from my obnoxious mother signalling that I need to hurry up. I looked at the clock and it was 7:38. I went to the car and slammed the door shut. By the time I got to school I had just enough time to get my things ready and talk with my friends. I was getting my history textbook and notebook together when I heard my best friend Audrey yell "Hey, I snapchatted you last night and you left me on read." I muttered a sorry since I absolutely hated drama and fighting over dumb things like leaving her on read. "Well is everything okay?" She asked. "Yeah, everything is fine, I had english and math to do last night" I said. Technically I wasn't lying considering the fact that we just started a new chapter in math so I needed to focus. I have a C in math and I needed to get it up. "Wow school over your best friend" She spat at me. I ignored her because she always does this, where she acts like she cares and asks me if i'm okay but gets mad when I don't want to be "miss pretend like everything's okay" like she is. She flipped her hair and stomped away in her heels that she struggled to walk in. I had so many things on my mind and I didn't need her stressing me out. I've also been really wanting a true, loving relationship. There is this one couple at my school, Autumn and Sage and they are relationship goals. Autumn is one of my true friends and I love her to death. They are so cute together. My guy best friend Jason came and leaned against the locker next to mine. "What a brat, I've been hoping she's going to fall over in those heels one of these days" He said smiling. I love how he understands me, I hate hanging out with Audrey and her possi because they just don't get it. "I know, I left her on read last night" I said smiling back. "I know, I heard everything and probably so did the whole hallway" He said with an apologetic look on his beautiful face. I like him as more than a best friend, we've been friends practically since we were born but he is a girl magnet. Finally the five minute bell had rung and so I turned my phone on silent, threw it in my backpack and continued to gather my materials. "Don't look so guilty Jase, it's not your fault she's like this. I had homework and she needs to take a chill pill." I whispered so only he would hear. "I get it Sky, I just want to make sure you're okay." He whispered back. Our faces were so close and I could feel his hot breath. "Jason and Skyler get to class" said Mrs. S, one of the very strict teachers. We went our separate ways, I headed to history and he went to biology. History and english are two of my favorite subjects. We watched a documentary on the war of Gettysburg and I read the entire period because I knew the Mr. Heffley just wanted to catch up on grading. The bell rang and I just went on with my boring day at school. At 3:30 the final bell rang while I was in math. Jason came by my locker because we normally go to his house after school and do homework. "Hey Sky are you ready?" He asked. "Yeah, let's go" I answered. We walked out to his car and drove to his house. "So Skyler......." He hasn't called me by my full name in a long time. "I've been wanting to tell you this for a while but I really really like you" He confessed. "You, You what?"
