The doorbell rang which caused me to jump at the option to leave this awful conversation about Ethan being hot and answer the door. As soon as I swung the door open Holly jumped on me for a hug. "Myraaaaa." Holly screamed.
"Ouch, my poor ears." I screamed back.
"Is Mr Cole here yet?" She asked excited.
"Yes he is." I stated in a bored tone. Holly screamed in excitement and ran into the living room to meet him.
"Hey." I greeted Leah who looked awful.
"Hi." She muttered.
"What happened to you?"
"One word, Holly."
I couldn't help but giggle, "Was she that bad?"
"Trust me she was I've got a bad headache." She mumbled and walked in.
I went straight to the kitchen avoiding Ethan Cole zone. "Oh Mr Cole is so hot! have you seen the top he was wearing, aahh he looked delicious I wouldn't mind having him any time of the day." Holly rambled to Sally. I don't think I would be able to relax tonight with this lot going on about Ethan every few seconds. "Ooo could I please sit next to Ethan?" pleaded Holly.
"No Leah is." Sally answered.
"Why Leah?" whined Holly.
"Cause if you were seated next to him you would start licking his chest in the middle of dinner. Trust me you can't keep your hands to yourself." I couldn't help but laugh at the remark.
"Oh shut up," glared Holly.
"I'll just call my mother." I said before walking into the living room with Leah slouched on one sofa and my mother in a deep conversation with Ethan.
"Dinner's ready." I said notifying them.
When Ethan walked past me his fingers softly grazed my hand making me gasp quietly but loud enough for Ethan to hear. He smirked at me before walking away which made me angry. I hate his stupid smirk. I followed Leah to the kitchen and I quickly took my seat in the chair opposite Ethan. When we were all settled in our chairs and all our plates were full of food my mother started the conversation.
"How is Myra doing in terms of work?"
"She is doing great." Ethan answered.
"Is she satisfying your needs and I mean ALL your needs?" Holly smirked. I elbowed her being grateful that she chose to sit next to me so I could inflict some pain.
Ethan cleared his throat awkwardly which caused Holly to giggle.
"Do you enjoy doing your work? I mean because it is your company; you must have so much to do. Don't you feel like just leaving everything and running off to some holiday?" Sally asked trying to mend the little awkward situation due to Holly's idiotic behaviour.
"I do love my work but there are times when things do get too much but I have to work hard to ensure everything is going smoothly. If I chose to run away from the problems or if it got too much I wouldn't be where I am right now."
"Working hard is a good thing but not too much, that you don't have time for yourself?" My mother stated with concern.
At that moment I wanted to yawn out of boredom, I mean just because Ethan Cole is here doesn't mean everything should be about him but I didn't dare talk cause I didn't wanted any attention on me so I just tuned them out.
After few minutes I felt someone kick me hard under the table. "Ouch." I looked up to see who hit me but everyone was staring at me. "What?" I asked in confusion as I looked at them.
"I asked if you're enjoying working at Ethan's company." My mother asked.
"Erm yeah." I muttered trying to avoid looking at Ethan. My mother and my friends looked at me eagerly thinking I had more to say which honestly I didn't but I tried. "It's erm, really....good." I hesitantly replied as I cut into my chicken steak making sure I was doing something with my hands cause I could feel Ethan's gaze on me. Honestly, I thought working in a big company would make me happy, but it hasn't. I want to do something that I would love and enjoy, but I didn't dare say that.
"Oh that's... good." My mother responded, clearly not happy with my reply.
"So Ethan do you have a girlfriend?" My mother asked cheerfully like the last minute or so didn't occur. This caught mine and my friends attention as we sat there waiting for his reply. It was the first time I looked at him since seated at the table and surprisingly he was looking at me before he cleared his throat and answered. "No, I don't." I'm not sure why but I felt relieved and happy about the fact Ethan was single.
"Aww why not?" Asked Holly curiously.
"I haven't found the right girl." He answered simply.
"Aww I'm sure your girl is out there somewhere, she might even be here at this table." My mother said. I could feel his gaze on me which caused me to blush.
"I wouldn't mind being your girl." Holly winked at him. I glared at her; I didn't know why her remark really annoyed me. I looked at Sally who was smirking at me.
"Of course you wouldn't, you would jump any guy." Retorted Sally as she laughed.
"No I wouldn't !" Holly yelled. ".....okay yeah I would." This caused everyone to laugh.
"Could you imagine Myra trying to seduce Mr Cole?" Giggled Holly, this instantly made me froze. "She's wouldn't know what to do." I felt my cheek heat up cause of Holly's comment.
"Leave my poor girl alone, it's not her fault she's a virgin." My mother tried to defend me which made everything worse.
"Mother." I shouted.
"I think it's time for some dessert." Stated Sally trying to divert the attention as she got up from her seat.
"What darling? There's nothing to be ashamed off." My mother tried to soothe me; I cannot believe she said that in front of Ethan Cole. My boss. I felt so embarrassed that I couldn't even look at him.
"Maybe we should hire Myra an escort, you know to show her some ropes." Holly blurted.
"Dessert's here." Sally announced.
"I'm stuffed." Leah muttered.
"Holly!" I yelled
"An escort." My mother asked in shocked.
"Mother just ignore her." I pleaded.
"It's not a bad idea." My mother pondered at the idea. Oh god! I wanted to shoot myself. I felt so ashamed cause Ethan was sitting there thinking that I was some naïve virgin girl.
"I've had enough!" I screamed as I scraped my chair back and stood up. "Just because I am a virgin doesn't mean you can sit here and insult me. I said from the beginning I would give myself to someone who I love and would return the same feelings for me so that doesn't make me a freak or something that you guys could discuss openly in front of everyone especially my boss." I yelled at the stunned faces. I threw my napkin on the table and stormed out of the kitchen and out of the apartment in anger.
