Chapter 23- E for Embarrassing Dinner

Start from the beginning

"I'll help you out." Sally offered.

"Oh yes please." I sighed in relief.

After few minutes of Sally rummaging through my dress section she stuck out a white dress with rose prints throughout. "How about this?"

"Yes that's perfect; I didn't know I had that." I admitted.

She chucked the dress at me which landed against my feet. "Quickly get ready before your mother comes in."

"Thank you."

I stripped my clothes of before getting into my dress, it nicely fit my curves and the pleated hem gave a nice style to it. I started on my make up making sure I gave myself a nice natural look with red lips. My hair was outgrown from the short style I had, they now below by my shoulders. I took my hair out from its usual messy bun and let it fall down as I ran my finger through it.

"Myra, are you ready?" I heard my mother shout.

"Yes." I shouted back as I hurriedly picked up my red peeped toe wedges and clasped them on. I was about to go out when I thought my arms felt too bare so I went to my jewellery box and picked up red beaded and silver toned heart bracelet. I took a glance at my reflection feeling happy with the way I looked.

I made my way out of my room when I heard my mother say politely, "Myra should be coming out soon."

I heard someone clear their throat before their deep voice filled my ears with music, "That's fine, Ms Dawn"

"Oh stop being so formal call me Irene." My mother laughed.

I took few deep breaths before I walked into the living room; it was just my bad luck that the first person who saw me walked in was Ethan. As soon as my eyes came into contact with his I stopped walking as my breath caught in my throat. He stared at me with his mouth slowly jarred open, he gazed down to my dress all the way to my feet and back up until he made eye contact with me. His intense blue eyes made me want to melt away right there and then. I looked down to see he was casually dressed which I have never seen before. I must say he looked dashing with his nice tight v neck t-shirt and dark jeans.

"Myra." My mother's voice broke into the little trance I was having.

I shook my head to think clearly, "Yes" I responded.

"You look very beautiful this evening." I heard Ethan say, I looked up to see him smiling at me. "Thank you." I replied as I felt butterflies fluttering in my stomach due to the compliment.

"Myra, could you help me set the table." I heard Sally shout.

I hastily walked out from that room wanting to be far away from him but to be honest if I pondered deep into my emotions and feelings it would be obvious I wanted the opposite. I wanted to be close to Ethan, I wanted to know everything about him from his favourite colour to how many children he wanted. However I needed to be strong and ignore these feelings because why would he be interested in a girl like me? Especially after I made myself look like a fool being controlled under his lustful thumb, I'm sure so many women fell for that but not me. I will make sure of it.

"Myra put the plates out for me." Sally ordered. I picked up the plates and started to put them out on the table when Sally started to talk about Ethan. "Don't you think he looks hot?"

"Hmm." I muttered.

"Oh come on, your telling me that dark haired billionaire sitting in our living room is not hot?" Sally retorted. I rolled my eyes at her, "Yes I am." I lied.

"I don't believe you." She stated.

"Fine, don't believe me it's not like it's the end of the world." I muttered annoyed.
