The Award Ceremony

It had been three long, hard working years since Zara was named the new idol. She won 'Best Newcomer' at several award shows in her first year and then she won 'Best Single' in her second year but this year she was up for 'Best Video' and she was looking forward to it, yes she may not have a date but she was going with her dancers and they were like family. Zara had just had the finishing touches to her make-up when her make-up artist poked her forehead like she always did
"Done Zara" Zara looked in the mirror,
"Laura, you never cease to amaze me" Laura chuckled
"What are you talking about? Your the natural beauty, I just had the colour" Zara stood up and looked down at her long pale pink dress with sparkling bodice, her blonde side swept hair had hints of glitter too. Zara smiled when her focus was broken by a knock at her door. She walked over to the door and peered through the peephole, Dawn was outside wearing her green midi dress with black belt.
"Come on Zara, you've got an award to collect" Zara laughed
"I haven't won it yet" she stated as she opened the door, and when Dawn saw Zara, her eyes lite up
"well look at you superstar" Zara shook her head as she turned around to Laura who had packed everything away
"Thanks again Laura" Laura smiled
"Don't worry, it was fun" she grabbed her case and walked passed Zara "Do well tonight ok?" Zara nodded as she collected her clutch purse and room key.
"Dawn, remind me who am I up against?" Dawn checked on her own outfit
"Due South, Rye, Jukebox and Tabitha" Zara stood behind Dawn
"Will you stop fretting about your dress, you look great" Dawn's and Zara's eyes met in the mirror "JJ will think you look great too" a slight pink tinge spread on Dawns cheeks as Zara held the door open for her.

After walking down the carpet with her friends and all the flash photography, Zara was finally able to get a drink, but she just asked for water. She was about to take a sip when someone touched her arm, she turned around to see the UK's golden boy Rye Wood. Not only was his video for his single 'Broken' against her video for her single 'Scared' but he was also Britain's most loved male solo artist and a flirt. He took a strand of Zara's hair between his thumb and finger
"Zara baby, you are looking gorgeous tonight" Zara sighed and slowly pulled her hair away from him as he tutted "Don't be like that" she just shrugged
"Be like what? I just don't want you touching my hair" she was about to say something when someone else approached them, a young half cast man in a black suit and grey shirt that was open at the collar and had an amazing low cut, red Mohawk was the one attracting her attention
"You bothering the lady again Rye?" Rye tutted
"What do you want Cole?" Zara could see Cole's nostrils flare. "I'm talking to the lady" Cole wanted to grab Rye by the back of the collar and throw him away from Zara, he was about to speak but then a man in a suit and wearing an earpiece walked up to them
"The show is starting in 10 minutes, to your tables please" and scurried off. Zara was relived for the distraction he brought
"Well gentleman" she said cheerfully "May the best video win" Rye nodded
"I intend to" and hurried off, Cole looked to Zara
"Best of luck Zara" she smiled and nodded
"You too" and headed to her table.

The ceremony went on for 2 hours before they got to 'Best Video' award, when it was announced Zara tensed up, award ceremonies still made her nervous, but at least her friends were having fun, JJ had his arms around Dawns waist as she leaned back into him and Brandon was showing Tina and Chelsea his woolly mammoth impression with his straws, she shook her head but was laughing, she looked to the stage as DJ Fox arrived with the award and started to announce the nominees
"Due south for Taken In" there was cheers as a cameraman had started to video the group as they waved to it so the crowd could see "Jukebox for Lucky coin" another round of applause and another band was being filmed "Rye for Broken" a loud cheer erupted as Rye winked into the camera "Zara for Scared" another loud cheer and Zara smiled at the camera and waved her fingers by flapping them up and down "And Tabitha for Forever Rainbow" she blew a kiss into the camera "and the award goes to" Zara held her breath, DJ Fox opened the envelope and smiled and turned to the microphone "Due South for Taken In" Zara stood up and applauded and cheered. She was heartbroken yes but glad she lost to them. As they accepted the award and started to thank everyone Tina tapped Zara's shoulder
"You alright Zara?" She nodded to her and put her hand over Tina's
"I'm fine" the rest of the ceremony continued on and nothing else happened that was worth remembering. The evening was coming to a close when a young woman, that Zara witness lost at 'Best Newcomer' started to head over to her. Zara stood up to greet her but then Zara saw this woman didn't look too friendly and Zara was spot on, the young woman growled at her.
"Zara Morgan, I'm so glad I'm seeing you tonight" Zara frowned at her
"May I ask why?" The woman pushed Zara, making JJ, Brandon and the third male dancer Kai hurry to Zara's side to protect her but the act got everyone else in the areas attention
"You, are a nasty piece of work" Zara raised an eyebrow
"I'm sorry but who are you?" The woman growled, Zara tried to see who it was, she did look familiar but she couldn't remember where from "I'm finally going to confront you" People started to whisper but Zara frowned
"I'm sorry but what?" The woman went to grab Zara but JJ stopped her, then a man Zara recognised as the singer for Due South came over
"Tiffany what's wrong?" Zara looked at her closely and remembered who it was, the same woman from the audition 3 years ago
"Wait, Tiffany Moore? The same Tiffany from the audition several years ago?" The woman nodded
"You told me I don't deserve to be a singer, because I'm a half cast!" Zara's eyes widened in shock
"I never said that! I never spoke to you that day!" Tiffany stomped her foot
"Liar! And tonight you had the audacity to twitter me that I won't win tonight well congratulations I didn't, happy now?" And she stormed off, with the lead singer following close behind. They all turned to Zara but Zara was speechless but none noticed that people were on their phones, JJ looked to Zara
"You alright?" Zara's heart was racing "Lets get you out of here before she comes back" as they exited, Tina's phone kept going off, when Tina was finally able to grab her phone, what she saw shocked her, tweets were pouring in about Tiffany's accusation. She hurried to show Zara and Zara frowned
