Dena Larkin is the epitome of Perfection—or at least she tries to be. At Beaker Ule High, she strives to be the best: Straight A student for the past three years along while holding the title of Valedictorian. Once she graduates, she will attend Princeton University with a full ride scholarship for the next five years, following her mother's footsteps to become a Molecular Biologist. Her mother has planned packed her senior year full of AP classes, extra credit assignments, ACT and SAT tests that will prepare Dena for college and the rest of her life. This is Dena's last year to make everything count. To make everything perfect.

The complete opposite of that? Eric Bryer. He is your typical rowdy, trouble-making, sexy type of bad guy that every girl wants to date but doesn't dare to. He could have any girl in the palm of his hand. Being the baseball team's number one hitter makes him even more irresistible. The only rule he lives by is don't follow the rules and never cares about the future.

Here's the dilemma: Eric and Dena have a history. Because of that history, the two make it a point to steer clear of each other.

Dena's decisions to have one wild night on her eighteenth birthday ends up backfiring when she wakes up naked beside none other than old flame, Eric Bryer. That one night turns her world upside and her idea of perfectionism slowly becomes her enemy as she realizes that, even for her, it is impossible to achieve. To make matters worse, Dena thinks she's falling for the one guy she tried desperately to avoid.
