Chapter 1: Saving The Nerd

"Zelda, are you there?" I hear Belle ask me, shaking my shoulder a bit.

"Who was that? Is he new?" I ask, still staring at the staircase where the boy had just walked up.

"Zelda where have you been through these four years of high school? He's been in our grade since sixth grade, and he's in our English class. His name is Corey Marshall, he's definitely shy and quiet, and don't forget nerdy. I don't think he has many friends because he's so quiet. But that's his problem," Belle finishes with a shrug of her shoulders.

"But you know me! I know everyone in this school! And how come I haven't noticed him in our class before?" I yell in surprise about this new information.

"Well guess not. Come on, we have to get to Physics before the final bell rings."

"Yea, yea let's go," I try to say normally, walking with her to our first period.

The bell that dismisses second period had just rung. I grab my backpack and textbook, then walking out of the classroom. I begin my short walk to my English class, with many people saying there hello's to me.

"Hey there good looking!" I hear someone yell, clearly knowing who's voice it was. I try to walk faster, dodging the people in the hall but to no avail, I felt him grab my arm.

"Oliver will you leave me alone?!" I yell at him, ripping his hand away from my arm. He steps in front of me, blocking my path to English. I see his baboons of friends stand behind him in a stereotypical fashion, with Oliver in front of them and Daniel and Dylan behind him to the side. They call themselves the ODD posse, for Oliver, Daniel, and Dylan. They think they're the most attractive and coolest people in the school. But truthfully, everyone thinks they're conceited, arrogant jerks who've been harassing me since my sophomore year. It's been more of Oliver but his two idiot friends help him.

"Oh come on beautiful you know you want this, every girl would want to be in your position. A dashing guy like myself chasing after you," he says to me, crossing his arms and giving me his famous smirk that I despised.

"Wow I never knew Oliver Turner was so self absorbed. You might as well go buy yourself a mirror since you're so in love with yourself," I sarcastically say to him with a glare.

"Ouch, that'll leave a burn," he smiles cunningly and narrows his eyes, walking behind me. "But I do think that I prefer a pretty girl, like yourself," he growls into my ear. I shove his face away from my ear, not wanting him anywhere near me. I then feel him place his hands where they shouldn't be placed.

"What is wrong with you?!" I scream at him, spinning around quickly then lifting my arm and slapping him across the face. Hard. I see a red mark form on his cheek and he scrunches in anger.

"You know, you may be very hot, but you're a fucking bitch, you know that?" He says calmly, his jaw clenched and his eyes burning with rage. "You'll regret this. I'll make sure you do," he then turns and shoves Dylan and Daniel forward, walking away from me. I sigh in relief, then finally reaching my English class.

"Zelda, why are you late?" I hear Mr. Marks ask me softly. I look at the clock, seeing that I was ten minutes late because of the perverted jerk.

"I'm sorry Mr. Marks, it won't happen again."

"Don't worry, I won't mark you late, I'll let it slide," he tells me, then giving me a warm smile. I smile back, then walking over to my seat in the back of the room.

"As I was talking about, today we'll be starting our Shakespearean unit with the play, A MidSummer Night's Dream. You've all probably heard that I'm assigning a project for it but I'll talk about it later. Now I'll need all of you to go to the back of the room and grab a textbook so we can begin reading it," he finishes. He then instructs us to go and grab the textbooks. I stand up quickly and began to hand them to people, since I love being nice to people.
