I was running. Running as fast as I could through the forest. I refuse to let it catch up to me. The dimly-lit moon and stars Illuminating a faint glow down to earth lighting a small path that I can escape to. I didn't dare to turn around for I was afraid. It was coming and there's nothing that I could do to stop it. Once it consumes me that's it. It won't stop at nothing and will devour anything that gets in its way. I rounded the riverbank in hopes that it would slow it down, but it didn't work. I was falling over dead tree branches, falling in mud and going through spider webs as their invisible in the night to the naked eye and falling over old broken twigs leaving me with a few cuts and bruises. I fell over a log and as I heard a low grumble, I knew it was there. I stumbled scurrying to get up. It was getting closer by the second. I stopped to catch my breath, but that's when I soon realized I made a big mistake. Before me appeared a shadowy figure. It had piercing white eyes. I was speechless. I didn't dare to move, breathe, or even blink. The dark figured just stood there, looking. It's hand reach out for me. I was confused. Why was it holding its hand out to me? Never in my life have I felt so terrified... But now that I've finally seen the thing that I was running away from, I felt this odd sense - it felt relieving. It was terrifying but yet relieving. I grabbed the shadow figures hand, and got up. It let me to a Cave. The Cave have moss on top of it with dead trees surrounding it. The figure have pushed me gently to go in. I went in, and suddenly I woke up. Sweat dripping down my face, I looked around and saw that I was back in my room. I sat up slowly trying to figure out what happened. But as I sat there... Processing everything that happened - the running, meeting with the shadow figure. I couldn't help but think that... Maybe the shadow figure was my fear. And I was running away from it. Then when they came face-to-face with me I face my fears. I smile at this conclusion as I laid back down and fell in a peaceful sleep.
