"depression". People hear the word and immediately think gloom, suicide, blank faces and empty eyes. And yes, that's apart of it but laughing is never what someone thinks when describing someone with depression.

Like what? How are they depressed? His smiling. She's clutching onto her stomach from the amount of laughter so how?

I laugh half the god damn time, at the most stupidest of things as well. You laugh because you have to. And guess what, sometimes even if I'm depressed I can still genuinely find something funny and have a good laugh about it. People don't realise that just because you have depression does not mean you are not allowed to laugh, or to be happy for the few seconds it lasts.

Some people laugh so much because they just want to cover up what they're feeling. Some try to fill an empty void in that way. Some are just lost. Some use laughter as therapy.

Point being, just because I have depression it does not mean I am not allowed to laugh. I can still find things funny, it's just short lived and that's okay.
