My Sister's Boyfriend~Ashton Irwin

Chapter 1

"Come on Mel," Sydney yelled, "he'll be here soon!"

I rolled my eyes and rolled off my messy bed. Today Sydney's new boyfriend was coming over to meet the family. I honestly want nothing to do with him. I can't help the fact that I'm a loner.

I scratched my head and yawned. For the day I chose a black bralette, a gold bomber jacket, blue ripped jeans and my black doc martens.

After I put on my outfit I walked down the hall and into the bathroom and began to brush out my black hair. I just recently died my hair from its natural blonde/brown color to black.

I left my hair natural and did my normal makeup routine: a bit of foundation and concealer, natural eyeshadow, winged eyeliner, fake eyelashes and some mascara.

I ran back down the hall towards my room after I heard the front door slam shut. I quickly grabbed my phone and my oversized glasses. Which I have for no reason considering I have 20, 20 vision.

I flipped the front of my hair as I jogged down the stairs to where my family was seated in the kitchen.

"Sorry guys." I sighed taking a seat next to my younger brother Ryan.

"It's fine Melanie," My mom smiled, "please introduce yourself to our guest." She said motioning to a man who I'm guessing was my sister's boyfriend.

"Hi." I simply said to the tall, muscular boy with hazel eyes and brown hair who was seated across from me.

"Hey. I'm Ashton." He answered wrapping his arm around Sydney who was typing something on her phone

Seconds later I recived a text from her.

Syd🥀- you could have at least tried to dress normal

Says the girl who's dressed in a crop top that cuts off right below her breasts and booty shorts that cut off right below her butt.

Sydney and I are complete opposites. She's the part animal who has a ton of friends and has boys drooling over her left and right. I don't really see why people wouldn't like her, her auburn hair and hazel eyes just gave off a friendly vibe.

I, on the other hand only have a couple friends. (If internet friends count...) I would say I'm pretty nerdy. Ya know, Harry Potter, video games, Tumblr, Wattpad, the basic 17 year old starter pack. I have naturally brown/blonde hair and dark brown eyes. I'm considered weird at school and I don't really fit in with any groups, which I don't really mind honestly.

I just rolled my eyes at the text message and placed my phone on the table.

"Can I go now?" I asked my mom

"Go ahead." She sighed with a sympathetic smile

She's basically my only family member who understands me. I'm so socially awkward, sometimes she just orders food for me or answered the door for me. I know, it's a problem. But I can't help it! I'm awkward and shy.

I mouthed a 'thank you' as I left the room. As I exited, I noticed that Ashton's eyes never left me. He just kept staring, which made me feel a tad bit insecure. Again, I'm very socially awkward.

Once I left the room, I jogged back up the stairs and jumped onto my bed, hitting my ankle on the corner in the process.

"Ouch." I mumbled rubbing where I hit my ankle

"You good up there?" Ryan yelled up to me

"I'm fine!" I yelled back

I yawned and layed back in bed. 9 in the morning is way too early to meet your sister's boyfriend.

I groaned and closed my eyes.

Just as I was falling back asleep Ryan came into my room.

"Mom says you better not be falling asleep." He smiled and closed my door

Ryan's only a ear younger than me and he's pretty much like any average 16 year old guy. Cocky, smelly and horny. He has brown hair like Sydney and dark brown eyes like me. He's a lot taller than me but I'm only 5'7 so it's not that hard fora guy. Ryan and I are both taller than Sydney considering she's only 5'4. But she's older than us both but whatever.

"She told me I could leave. And I wanted to leave so I could sleep." I said to myself

I guess I should probably socialize... I thought.

I ran my fingers through my hair and grabbed a book. Just in case ya know?

I plugged in my phone, grabbed my glasses and left my room.

"Please tell me you weren't sleeping." My mom sighed as she was cleaning the dishes

"I fell half asleep," I pointed out, "Where's Syd?"

"Her and Ashton are in the backyard. He really is a sweet boy! You should get to know him." She said turning to me

I replied with a shrug and walked to the back yard. I sat in one of our chairs in the corner of our patio under the shade. Ashton and Sydney were laying in our hammock out in our lawn.

If I have to be honest, Syd and Ashton are pretty cute together. From what I can tell they just fit.

I smiled a little bit as I watched them swing around and laugh together. I turned my attention down to my book. To Kill a Mockingbird. A classic. I've read a couple times before but it's just so good.

I was about 2 chapters into the book when I heard Ashton and Sydney approaching. I looked up and saw them laughing and hugging. I scoffed at them and continued reading.

"Jealous?" I heard Ashton say. I looked up at him and gave him a questioning look.

"Of course she is." Sydney laughed kissing his cheek

"Whatever." I shook my head and looked away

"Aw she can't stand seeing us together." Sydney cooed

"Seriously just leave me alone Syd." I groaned

"Why would I do that." She asked pouting

"Oh my god you're annoying as hell." I yelled pushing past them

As I walked back inside I could hear Sydney giggle and the sound of her and Ashton kissing. Gross.

Well I guess I'll just have to deal with the constant pain of getting picked on by my sister and her boyfriend.
