Death, destruction, ruination—all are foreseen as an earth-shattering prophecy is delivered the evening prior to the spring equinox. With King Tevenot poisoned within the confines of his own castle, his callous son taking the throne and the new ruling being sadistic and merciless, no inhabitant of Bonvalet is safe.
Malevolence stains the surface of the Earth. Sins thrive and proliferate as the weeds do during the springtime. Vermilion-coloured blood pools like a new and deadly river; and Maarit Pheraios, the woman who delivered the prophecy that foretold this devastation, is imprisoned by the Infernal Prince—who has now become the Infernal King—himself.
