1623 was one of the worst years for Neotrinovia. War broke out, wreaking havoc in neutral territory. This was caused by none other than the evil sorcerer, Vën Dé Heigstrof, who had tricked and lied his way to the throne of Tehnenoss. He may have been wicked, but he was one heck of a tactical genius who took no chances when it came to the Allied Kingdoms fighting against him. The war had yet to end and the amount of lives which it had swallowed was uncountable. War crimes, magical biological weapons... technological terrors. Things so morbid and horrible that no one could have ever dreamt of. At least not anyone in their right mind.
Now then, let us skip that part and head to the life of our main character- Horte Diax of Wolssät. He was very far from being an ordinary man. He was a brave warrior, he had gotten the best possible grades from all 365 school subjects, and he was also the Chief of the Tactical Strike Force of Wolssät ( T.S.F.W ). Horte Diax was an intelligent, well trained, overall tough guy.
Horte was also an easily recognised man when it came to looks. With short, dark green hair and almost white eyes and his usual armour, he was easily distinguishable in the streets. After years of training, Horte had developed well-defined muscles.
Moving on, Horte was heading for his daily training with his mates from the T.S.F.W . He got to the main entrance, only to find that the door was open and the ground near it, covered in..... Wolssätsian Blue Blood?
"What in the name of..?!" exclaimed Horte. Just then, he heard a weak voice calling for help.
He quickly ran to the source of the voice, passing by many skeletons and damaged weapons.
The person calling for help was Horte's teacher and general of the T.S.F.W - Vadow Mikrax.
"Horte, thank the Almighty One you're here. They suprised us... Th-They... Slaughtered everybody... Even the newbies." The man panted while saying all this, making it apparent that he was in pain, maybe even dying.
"They left me alive so that i could-" The general stopped and Horte saw the life seep out of Vadow's body as he became limp and he uttered his last, shaky breath.
"General... No!!!" he screamed, tears streaming down his face, different emotions swirling as he fully took in what had happened. Horte grabbed the nearest sword and started slashing up the room from pure anger, his eyes turning red with hatred. How could they? These had been his friends, brave and noble men with bright futures ahead of them. How-
Suddenly, Horte heard footsteps aproaching. Was it them again? Did they want to finish the job?
Well if they came here, they would surely be in for one heck of a suprise. Horte hid in a corner of the destroyed room and held the sword he had picked up tightly.
When the footsteps became louder he readied himself, his breath quickening.
The footsteps stopped. He swung the blade forward, only to see that he had almost decapitated an old man. The mysterious person wore an old, slightly damaged rug, and ancient looking shoes. His skin was very pale, his eyes a darker shade of neon-green and his long, destroyed strands of hair - a light grey.
"Oh my goodness, what in the name of Grnfëher?" exclaimed the wrinkled man.
"Oh my! I'm terribly sorry, I thought you were part of the Da Vëns Doom Division, here to finish the job in wiping out me and my mates." said Horte, confused as to who this old man was.
"Oh, no worries, sir. Anyway, I might as well explain my reason for being here, Officer Diax... General Vadow speculated that someday, this would happen so asked me to come as soon as I sensed danger... To strangers I am Fero, once a proud general myself, here to help you get together. Only he didn't know it would happen today." Explained the old man sadly and sighed, glancing at the destruction, at the bodies of the fallen.
"I am truly sorry for your loss... He was probably like a father figure to you, wasn't he?" asked the man.
" Yeah... Yeah, he was . Especially since my father left me and my mum for a science expedition, and he never came back." said Horte, his white eyes narrowing at the thought of his father.
Both of them slowly made their way towards the entrance, deciding to go to Fero's home. After quite a while spent walking, the shaken man saw a big, old mansion, its walls made out of freshly polished Scartürs ravine Wood, the windows made from Hëgtan Magma glass and the building reinforced by 16 Dörluminum steel. The whole thing stood in a nice, calm green field surrounded by some trees and small hills. They entered the house after Fero unlocked the door.
"I have many spare rooms in case someone is hurt and comes across my home." said Fero.
"Have a look around." And that was what Horte did. The whole house was wonderfully decorated and the furniture was well-crafted. Expensive carpets, rare stones - he had it all. The man went up a large staircase and saw a corridor with many doors. The one that caught his eye was the one with a Yvairë Mine diamond doorknob. He approached it and attempted to open it. The door was locked.
"That door brings back so many memories." sighed the old man.
Horte, who was unaware of Fero's presence, got so startled that he stumbled and fell to the floor.
"No worries, it's just me." said Fero in a reassuring tone.
He extended a hand to the startled man and pulled him up. In the old man's hand, he noticed a key. Perhaps a key to the mysterious room?
Fero inserted the key into the keyhole and unlocked the door. pushing it open. It opened with the squeak of a door that hadn't been opened in a long time, revealing a medium-sized, room with walls painted a dark red. It wasn't very well-furnished, containing only a small bed, a desk, a wardrobe and a mysterious chest. The walls were adorned with paintings though, and it added a bit of life to the room. Horte was suprised to a few some portraits of people with big, bushy beards.
"Who are they?" He wondered, but at the moment, it didn't matter. All Horte needed now was rest. The room was cozy, which made it perfect for the time being, and that is everything that he needed after an emotional day like he had experienced.
