You can't live a life without a memory.

Chapter 6

Kyle and I spent most of the day in my room chatting away, it was now 4pm. I guessed that Angie and Lee both probably left. I was having such a good time with Kyle. We sang, we laughed, we danced, it was fun. Just goofing about. Then we went into my movie room.

"You pick a film, Ric," Kyle said.

"I've not seen any of them so i don't know which ones are good or not!" I protested.

"Just pick one!" Kai laughed.

So i closed my eyes, put all the DVD's around me, spun round with my finger pointed, which ever one i stopped at we would watch. It stopped at The Human Centipede 2. Kai looked disgusted.

"I really don't think this should be your first movie..."

"Oh well, i picked it okay!"

"You sure?" Kai was very uncertain.

"Yup," I said popping the 'p'. Kai started putting his finger in his mouth and made the same noise basically. I tried multiple times and failed. Kai chuckled at this. He had a really nice chuckle. I can't explain it, he just does...

We sat down and started watching the film. Kyle was right. This was NOT something i'd want to watch. I watched it anyway so i didn't have to hear him say 'I told you so!'

I watched as much as i could but I couldn't stand it when the guy stapled them together. I ran out to the bathroom and vomited. Oh god, the image was still in my head. I washed my mouth and brushed my teeth then went back into my the movie room and all i could see was Kyle dancing and singing something..

"SHE'S OPEN WAITING FOR MORE, DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN ,HE'S ONLY LOOKING TO SCORE, DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN!!"

I laughed so hard Kai turned around and went bright red. He came up to me and pushed me onto a chair.

"IT'S RUDE TO SPY ON PEOPLE!" he screamed at me. I just kept laughing. He went to the chair furthest away from me and started sulking. I finally calmed down a little so i went over to him.

"What.. the hell.. was that!" I was laughing again.

"I LIKE IT OKAY!"

"What were you even singing?"

"It's a a song by Blink 182.."

"I'm sorry baby," I said in a funny voice, he just looked at me.

"Fine then, I'll just lock you in here,"

"No!" He shouted. He doesn't like being trapped.

"Do you forgive me?" I gave him the puppy dog eyes.

"I guess so," he mumbled.

"Yay! Ric and Kai forevzzzz!" I said stupidly. He laughed.

"What time is it?"

"Just past five why?"

"Shit," he said then ran towards the door, i followed him, he was putting his shoes on.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Visiting time's are nearly here, It's like an hours drive into the city from your house," he panted.

"Oh," I said. He stood up. I felt a little dissapointed, we were having such fun, i think Kai could tell.

"Ric?"

"Yeah," i replied.

"D'you wanna come see mum with me?"

"Umm... sure!" I said, "Let me just ask mum," I said whilst running to find her.

"Hurry!" Kyle shouted behinde me.

As soon as i found mum i just blurted the words out.

"MUM CAN I GO SEE KYLES MY AT THE HOSPITAL WITH HIM?"

"A-"

"Wait why am i asking, I'm 20, I can do whatever i want.. bye!" I said then ran off.

"STAY SAFE," mum shouted behind me.

So now we're in the car and i can feel myself falling asleep. I don't want to but i know i probably will. I'm glad to know it made Kyle happy that i was seeing his mum. But i don't know what kind of relationship we had before so this could be strange or it could be a big bundles of joy. I hope its the second one.

I fell asleep in the car on the way meet Kyle's mum which i found quite rude and got embarresed by. I was quite scared at first, y'know to meet Kyle's mum, but when we got there everything went perfectly fine. Kyle went to talk to his mum for a bit first then he said he had a surprise for her. Guess what it was? Me! Kyle made his mum close her eyes then signalled me to sit beside her.

"Open your eyes!" Kai said.

All she did was stare at me. She hesitataed.

"You got me a girl?"

Kyle face-pamled.

"Mum... this is Ric," All i heard was the biggest gasp ever. I could see tears falling down her face.

"Come here and give me a hug!"

I did as i was told. Apparently me and her were quite close.

"Is this really you?" She asked still hugging me.

"Yup, it's me," I said. I had the biggest smile on my face. Knowing that i could make Kai's mum this happy was a really nice thought.

Kyle's mum's name was Jane, and boy was right when he said his mum was sick. The first thing you could notice when you looked at her was how dredfully skinny she was. No, skinny's not the word. The right word for this would be anorexic. All you could see was her cheeckbones sticking out of her face. They stuck out so much that if you toched her face you could feel her bones without even trying. Also her eyes. Her eyes were tired. She had huge bags under them. Her skin looked tired also. It drooped down and brought more age to her face.

I can't believe Kyle visits her everyday, sometimes twice. I would hate to see my mum in such horrible conditions. Knowing that she was ill and may not get better. This just shows how nice of a person Kyle really is.

After this we told Jane about my memory-loss. As soon as the words left my mouth and entered Jane's ears her big smile just dissappeared. She was lost for words. She looked down as if she was looking into her blanket to find the answer why this had happened to me. Me and Kyle gave each other a little glace. About a minuet later Jane looked up and smiled.

"Well atleast your back Erica," This made me smile again.

I wanted to stay more and talk to her more but the bell to tell us the visiting times were over. I frowned upon this fact. Kyle dropped me off home which i told him he didnt have to yet he did anyway.

When i got home i had a nice hot bath, ate something, then went straight to sleep.

I had done it. I had survived my first full day of being the new Erica.
