"Aye girl, you gonna wake up?" I heard a familiar raspy, southern, voice ask as I stirred from my sleep. "Mm, what time is it?" I asked.
"It's five in the mornin, are ye drivin the Mustang or ridin yer Harley?" I rolled over so I was facing him, I instantly smiled when I seen his sleepy, blue eyes staring back at me. "Is ridin you an option?" I asked as I playfully snuggled into his neck.
"I reckon it could be, but you'd be late fer work, darlin." He said as he placed a soft kiss onto my forehead, and brushed a strand of hair behind my ear. "I suppose you're right, but laying here all warm and cozy with you Daryl Dixon, sure does make it hard to get up." I replied and gave him a kiss before rolling out of bed.
I walked over to my dresser and pulled out a fresh uniform for work and was about to head for the shower when Daryl spoke, "Ya never did tell me what yer going to drive today." I thought for a moment, " I feel like being a badass today so I'll take the Harley." I winked at him and he gave me one of his signature side smiles, then told me he'd back it out of the garage, and have it ready to go. Nodding back to him, I turned and went to take my shower.
"What in the hell are you doing baby brother?" "Oh God no, please, it's too early for Merle." I thought to myself in disgust, no doubt he's probably drunk. I kept quiet while getting dressed, so I could hear the conversation going on in the kitchen.
"I'm makin breakfast ya dummy, what does it look like I'm doin?" Daryl replied back to his brother sarcastically. I heard Merle chuckle a bit and say, "Ain't that what yer woman is suppose to be doin?" Rolling my eyes at that remark, I burst into the kitchen all smiles. "Well good morning Merle, how the hell are ya?" I asked him.
"Now listen here Evelyn, you need to be the one makin Daryl breakfast, not the other way around. It's the woman's job to be in the kitchen taking care of her man, sugar tits." I whipped my head around and went to say something, but Daryl intervened lunging at his brother from across the kitchen island and getting a hold of his shirt collar. "Merle! I best not here ya talk ta Evie like that ever again, or I'll beat yer ass!" I watched as Merle threw Daryl's hands off of him and stood up, pointing a finger in Daryl's face yelling, "Yer so pussy whipped Daryl, I never thought I'd see the day you would chose some whore over blood, you know I'm the only one that really cares about ya!"
I'm not going to lie, Merle's words cut like a knife, but I was more worried about how it was affecting Daryl. I turned to look at Daryl and noticed his fists balling up and eyes glazed over with anger. Putting a hand on his arm I went to speak, "D-Dar..." but he jerked his arm away and started taking swings at Merle.
Appalled at the situation taking place in front of me, I began yelling for them to stop but that didn't work. I grabbed onto Merle, but he ended up pushing me full force into the dining room table and chairs. Shaking off the pain I currently felt in my right side, I decided to try and detain Daryl again.
I was walking up to them, waiting for the right time to make my move, when suddenly I noticed Merle duck down in front of me to avoid Daryl's punch, then the next thing I knew, I was seeing stars.
The entire house went quite, I was in shock and so were the Dixons. The pain in my left cheek was now radiating to my head. Realization of what just happened took hold of me and I looked at both of them dead in the eyes and said, "By the time that I get finished getting ready for work, you BOTH better be out of my house." I turned away from them going back down the hallway and into the bathroom locking the door.
