The first day.

"West York Senior High School. Just by looking at this place I can tell I don't belong. Oh well, ya gotta do what ya gotta do." I shrugged, speaking out loud to myself was an everyday event in my life, I didn't have friends. I didn't want them either. I had enough stuff going on in life to want anyone in my life, my parents being the only exception, and I even kept them at bay. I was an outcast and I was content. Plus it was high school, people got arranged in these little groups so walking around was easy seeing as how they crowded in their areas, the jocks and cheerleaders stayed near the gym area, the geeks and nerds near the computer labs. Weebs and art kids near the art rooms, science kids near the science labs, ect. I managed to slip past the mob of weebs to get into the art room where my first period was, I wasn't a Pablo Picasso but I had talent and I needed the credits.
"Good morning fellow artist! My name is Mr. Hopkins, I will instruct you on art for the next 7 months"
I took one look at this man and almost lost it, he was wearing sweat pants, sandals, and a old band tee. I couldn't read it cause of the faded lettering but the image showed a statue holding a balance in her hands, something like what you see when you think of the legal system.
"Um..eh you there what's your name?"
Sadly he was pointing directly at me, I was going to pretend to be a mute but what's the point he'd hear me talk to myself eventually.
"My names Dani."
He looked at me with a smirk.
"So. Dani. Why all the back clothes and make up?"
"Well you see I'm what they call a goth."
"Oh okay. So what do you think of me?"
I sat there for a second pretending to eye him up, I was really trying to find what he wanted to hear.
"You look like a dad who hasn't let his childhood behind yet."
He looked puzzled for a second. Then laughed for a solid minute
"That's the best thing I've ever heard! Finally someone who says what's on their mind. Dani I think we are going to get along just fine."
I sat there looking at him extremely confused, I had no idea what happened. I insulted him then he says we are going to get along? I just shook my head and let him continue. I noticed this goofy boy, I didn't catch his name in the teachers roll call, but he would stare at me for a few Seconds then I noticed. I though that he was just eyeing me up and going to try to talk to me, so I had my headphones at the ready. The bell rang I got my bag and put my headphones in, I was walking out the door and then I felt something touch my arm. I pulled out my headphones and looked back to see that same boy.
"Um. Can I help you?"
"Oh...uh yeah... would you want to sit with me at lunch or something?"
He was so... nervous. It was almost sad
"Um... I guess? Where should I meet you at?"
His face brightened up and he finally looked me in the eyes
"At the steps that lead right into the café, if I'm not there yet just wait for a minute okay?"
"Uh yeah, sure thing."
