Chapter one: Last Day

The last week of school is probably pure hysteria for most people; at least it is for me.

I flung open my locker, ready to clean all the contents out. With finals coming tomorrow, it was important I get this done today. I groaned as my eyes met the clutter of my locker. How I dealt with this mess for the whole school year left me in utter awe.

"Let's get this over with." I muttered grudgingly.

Tying up my knotted brown hair, I decided to start at the upper shelf where unimportant papers layed wadded up in the corner. I heard a low whistle from behind me as I managed to push all the papers out and into the trash bin that was right next to my locker. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw my two friends with amusement clearly etched upon their faces.

"Is my locker that beautiful?" I sarcastically remarked.

Chloe snorted and did one last sweep with her eyes on my locker. "Honey, if you needed help with organization you could've just asked me."

As far as I knew, Chloe was one of the most organized and neatest person I had ever met.  I rolled my eyes as I uncrumpled a wad of paper only finding a doodle of a stick figure sloppily drawn on it. I threw it at the trash bin without a second thought.

"I thought you guys had art at third block?" I crouched down lower to start working on the second shelf of my locker.

"Ms. Madds let us have a free block since it's technically the last day of school." Trish explained.

"That explains it." I bit my lip as I contemplated if I should throw my sketchbook out.

"Don't even think about it Char." Chloe warned as she snatched my Sketchbook quickly out of my hands. "You'd be just plain stupid to throw this out." She flipped through the pages leisurely pausing every once in a while to inspect a sketch closer.

In all honesty, I hated letting other people look at my sketches since I felt like they were scrutinizing me. It just made me feel uncomfortable and vulnerable. Though Chloe and Trish were the only exceptions to my silly fear.

"Why don't the two of you guys help me instead of gawking at nothing in particular?" I waved a hand infront of them as the both of them had their eyes glued to the Sketchbook.

"Oh stop at that page!" Trish shrieked.

A sly smirk spread upon her lips as she took in the picture.

"Who's this Char?" She giggled mischievously.

I glanced down at the paper to see a drawing of a guy strumming a guitar. "A guy strumming a guitar?" I responded unsurely.

"You sure?" Chloe joined in.

I shook my head as I smiled at my two friends. "The both of you know I hate all the guys in this school. They're all freaking pigs and butts."

Trish pouted at me. "There has to be one guy you're attracted to!"

I pursed my lips. "Well what about Chloe here? She doesn't like anybody in this school either!"

Trish waved it off. "I've been trying to get Chloe to like a guy for the past six years." In a hushed whisper she added, "It's a lost cause. She either beats the poor guy up or stays quiet the whole time."

"I heard that!" Chloe smacked Trish on the shoulder. "I'm just waiting until I graduate from this dump to actually pursue a relationship."

I chuckled at the two of them. "Just help me clean out my locker before you two kill each other."
