The Second World War ended 2 years earlier because of Russia's realization of what we call the holocaust.
The Arms race never got into its full swing until 1964.
In 2000 was the Cuban wars, this was when Cuba was in political turmoil the battle of political influence started over what government type would dominate the Gulf of Mexico.
(If you didn't know, after WW2, everything east of Berlin, Germany was declared communist)
The whole of eastern Europe was a slowly converting to Democracy. But Russia still in this history a communist country. Couldn't allow this, so the Russian military attempted to invaded Eastern Europe.
After this, the remaining communist country's of Europe converted to republics, with aid from Western Europe, the New Democratic country's of Eastern Europe defended Europe in its whole from the Russian invasion.
After three month of war in Europe, the United States and all of NATO declared war on the Communist State of Russia.
