Meet my friends: Amanda Hill, Mandy for short, is the popular girl who gets all the gossip. She's a fair shade of apricot. Her long black waves are very complimenting to her bright blue eyes. She's got an average teenage build, just a little more muscle due to sports. She's popular, we all are, but she's more of the popular girl you would expect to be the antagonist in a story. She's not though, she's helpful and extremely caring. Next up, Michael Fennick, Mike for short, is the football jockey, he has a muscular build and he just loves to pick fights. Always loses but still picks them. He has the type of face every girl swoons over, besides me. His naturally swooshed brunette hair, his big hazel eyes, and a jawline so sharp it could cut you. He has handsome features, just not my type. Last but not least, Klarissa. Klarissa, Rissa for short, is a model. Already. She got signed to Infinity Models 3 years ago. I've known her for 12 years. I've seen Rissa mature quicker than other girls and deal with it. Her agents form her style around her personality, unlike other agencies. She's caring once you get past her initial suspicions. Her dad left her when she was young, so if you're her friend it's a "you-don't-leave-me-I-don't-leave-you" relationship. Those aren't my only friends, just my only best friends. They've all been known by me for an equal 12 years. Seems long, but it's no long enough for them I suppose. We're also all into sports. Rissa of course, you know, because she's a model. Goths stay in shape for that. Amanda partakes in basketball and Rissa participates in soccer. We're just the active squad.
I walk up to my approaching best friends and meet them halfway. "Oh my basket! Is that yours, Jay?"exclaims Amanda. We all give her a knowing look. "Hey! I'm trying here. Using the Lord's name in vain isn't appropriate for my family."Amanda complains, crossing her arms. I chuckle. "Ok, ok. We get it, we get it. We won't judge you. Out loud, at least. You can't get into my head, Mandy."Michael teases. Amanda lunges at him and almost gets him. If it wasn't for Klarissa and I grabbing them fast enough, it would've been an all-out brawl. Michael in the lead some, Amanda in the lead some, and then ending in a tie. "Alright, alright. Stop it you two. Dating in this squad is illegal. So, stop flirting." Klarissa says. "OOOOHH! SHE GOT YOU! SHE GOT YOU GUYS GOOD!" I practically scream. I get a lot of stares from the surrounding people. My friends only understand my weirdness. I lower my voice. "So, is it official?" I ask casually, as if Rissa didn't just say dating isn't allowed. Mandy's cheeks burn and Michael starts whistling and looking anywhere but my gaze or Klarissa's. I gasp the same time Klarissa does. No freaking way. Are all my friends gonna ditch me?, I think to myself. My already wide eyes, somehow widen. My brain can't function, as if he just asked me out. "Ok, yes. It's official. You got an answer. Now stop bugging us about it!" Amanda says, obviously flustered about the scenario. I turn to Rissa and cough. "I'm going to need you to cough up that money, sweets." I say, holding out a hand and smiling. Rissa sighs, but reluctantly hands me a crumpled twenty. I take it and sigh in satisfaction. I meet Mandy's confused face. Her features slowly contort. Oh no, we're in some trouble. "RUN, RISSA!" I scream, already running through the halls. Klarissa heeds my warning and soon catches up to me. We hear two more pairs of feet behind us, cathcing up. We share a look, and nod. We start sprinting. Then, it happens.
