My Guardian Angel

Chapter 8. Facing Reality

"Joey?" Cat said.

"Yeah?" Joey asked.

"How did you get here?" Cat asked.

"Oh,I ran." Joey said.

"Why?" Cat asked sitting up.

"Luke and the others made me mad." Joey said.

"How?" Cat asked.

"I don't know...I guess they were trying to keep me away from you.They kept saying you were dead." Joey said.

Cat stared at him for a while,then said.

"Joey..." 

"What?" Joey asked.

"I....I am,d-dead." Cat said,quietly.

Joey looked up,into her eyes.

"B-But....you're still here." Joey said.

"I know,at first I was confused too. Joey,I'm an angel." Cat said.

Joey turned his body to face Cat.

"But...I can touch you.I can see you,I-I can hear you." Joey said.

"I guess...I have powers? I can make myself visible to people..who are alive.I can make people hear me.But it uses a lot of my energy..." Cat said.

"So...you're dead?" Joey asked.

-FLASHBACK-

"CAT GET UNDER THE TABLE!!" Joey shouted.

Joey went under a table and Cat was under a different table.Things were falling and everything was shaking.Joey was panicking looking around,something caught his eye.He looked over towards Cat and his eyes widened,as things were falling over her.

"CAT!!" Joey shouted.

"JOEY!!!" Cat yelled.

Joey ran over to Cat,throwing everything off of her as fast as he could.The earthquake stopped,but Joey didn't stop.Everything was off of Cat and Joey lifted her off the ground.

"CAT! Speak to me Cat,Cat say something!!" Joey shouted.

Cat's body was limp,her eyes closed.Her breathing slow,slowing down as seconds past by.The ambulance and police came.Joey was holding onto Cat,the police had to hold him back so the paramedics could take Cat.

"CAT!!" Joey screamed.

Cat was in the hospital.Joey beside her crying,her friends and family there.

"Cat's dead." The doctor said.

Those words repeating in Joey's head.

"She can't be dead." Joey said under his breath.

Staring at Cat's dead body,Joey faints. 

End FLASHBACK 

The thought of it brough Joey crying all over again.The pain like it was before,when he found out Cat was dead.

"Joey,I'm still here with you.Don't cry,please." Cat said.

Joey wiped his tears.

"What do I do now?" Joey asked.

"Joey,you need to believe in angels.So I don't have to make myself visible all the time.Doing that makes me lose energy,which means I have to rest for a long time." Cat said.

Cat made herself invisible again and all Joey could see was a pink mist,where Cat was sitting.

"But,how can I hear you?" Joey asked.

"I can make you hear my,it'll take less of my energy away." Cat said.

"Will I ever be with you again?" Joey asked.

"We'll be together some day,Joey.But you have to live your life." Cat sighed.

"Well...why did this happen?" Joey asked.

Just then John came.

"Cat,there's another light.." Joey said.

"That's John,my friend." Cat said.

"Hi,Joey." John said.

"Hi John.Can you see Cat?" Joey asked.

"Yeah,I'm an angel too." John said.

"How did you die?" Joey asked.

"The usual,car accident." John sighed.

"Oh...John do you know why this happened?" Joey asked.

"Yeah.Cat has to do something,like a mission.Then she'll "go to the light." John said.

"Like...leave me? I wont be able to see her again?" Joey asked.

"When you die and complete YOUR mission you'll see her." John said.

There was a silence.

"No,Joey.Suicide won't count." John said.

"How did you know what I was thinking?" Joey asked.

"I read your mind.When I tell most people that,they think suicide is the answer.So I thought the same thoughts you were thinking and then I could hear everything you were thinking." John said.

"So,what's my "mission?" Cat asked.

 "You have to figure it out." John said.

"No one tells me?" Cat asked.

"Nope.Me and Joey will be here to help you." John smiled.

"How can I help?" Joey asked.

"Well,Cat's mission means helping someone who's alive.We can't do human things anymore." John said.

This fanfic is ending shortly.I'll be making a new one though! Of course,it'll be about Jatrific unless you guys have another ship but yeah!!!
