It took my much less time than I thought it would to get to there two story, sandy brown home. I opened the door and screamed for Lola. She screamed back telling me that she was upstairs. I took off my shoes and ran up the staircase and into their room.
"Hey!" I greeted, giving her a hug.
"Hey, November! I'm glad you came. I haven't been able to hang out with any of my friends since giving birth. Sit down, sit down. I want you to hold little Renee!"
"Do you have any hand santitizer? I don't want to touch her with any germs on my hands."
"Yeah, go look over on Ray's desk. He should have about five big ass bottles."
I laughed then went to go sprits some sanitizer in my hands. They had the cool bottle where you sprayed it into your hands without having squeezing it out. Maybe it's just me but the shit was cool.
"Let me hold her." I cooed, sitting down on the bed beside Lola. "Oh my gosh, she is so beuatiful!" I exclaimed, holding her in my hands. She had light hazel eyes that both Lola or Ray didn't have. She had Ray's skin tone and his thick curly hair. Only a couple of weeks old, her hair was thick and full. I know Lola was going to have a fun time experimenting with it. She smiled at, showing a small dimple in her left cheek. One thing that she had that Lola had was her dimple. It was almost in the exact place as Lola's.
"Hi, Renee." I cooed, kissing her cheek. Once again, she smiled and tried gripping my nose with her hand.
"Lola, you and Ray made a beautiful baby."
"Aw, why thank you girl."
"Speaking of Ray, where is he?"
"He left to work a couple hours ago. I'm glad his ass did leave because he acts like I don't know how to take care of a child. Did he forget that I carried her for nine months?"
I laughed, Lola always made me laugh. "That's Ray for you, he was so pressed to have a child with you."
"Yeah, I know. Hopefully we can start planning our wedding once Renee gets a little older. I would love to have it next year in the fall so everyone could be here to celebrate it with us."
"Aw, a little fall wedding, that would be hella cute."
"Yes, but you, Brielle, and Darshay need to hurry up and make up because I want all three of you as my bride maids plus Carina."
I sighed. "That may happen and that may not happen. I can't promise you anything."
"I talked to Darshay yesterday and she was really upset, November."
"I know, I called her this morning and she just wouldn't give me anytime to explain anything to her. I just miss my friend, you know? If I could, I would go back and stayed away from all of those drinks but life doesn't work like that."
"I know you would but you have to understand something, November. She's about to be a mother and it's every mothers dream to have a family. No woman wants to be a single mother."
"I somewhat understand but I think that she needs to understand that seeing Daniel and Aniya that night hurt me on levels that I can't even explain to you."
"I completely understand. We've all been through heartbreak but being depressed over a guy should be your last option."
"It sounds like you're taking her side."
"Trust me, I'm not. I'm just making sure that you understand where she's coming from. I did the same thing with her yesterday, made sure she understood where you were coming from. I promise you, November, don't give up on your friendship. She'll have to give in at one point. Things don't go back to normal over night."
