The plum sky washed away as the morning light hit the boys skin, it glistened in the light, the tattoos sparkling in the rays of sunshine, Joel's arms still wrapped firmly around Ahren their bodies connected the snow outside still flickering down to the muddy grass, Ahren groaned as he rubbed his eyes and yawned, glancing down at Joel, his glasses rested above his nose, he watched his chest rise and fall wishing that he knew his feelings for the beautiful boy in front of him, his soft brown curly hair matted and sticking up in random places, to Ahren he looked like a angel. Joel's eyelids began to peel open his warm eyes started back into Ahrens with so much adoration, Ahren bit his lip and grinned ear to ear,
"So I was thinking how about we go visit your mum today?"
Joel's eyes became sad his head tilted down as he played around with the bed sheets
"No, I didn't mean you make you feel bad Joel I'm sorr-"
"It's okay string, we can go see her if you want, then how about a movie day?"
"Sounds great love"
Joel's heart started beating faster as Ahren giggled and hugged him tightly, as he disappeared to get changed Joel walked to the bathroom, as he looked in the mirror he began to tear up, he looked exactly like his mother, suddenly two arms wrapped themselves around his waist and Ahrens hair tickled Joel's back making him burst out into a fit of giggles
"Hey! Hey! Stop I'm really ticklish!"
Suddenly Joel began to blush as Ahrens cold hands were under his shirt, bursting into a fit of giggles Joel flushed a deep red and chuckled at his beautiful boy.
"Alright go get changed String"
"My clothes are still here?"
"You basically have a room here, you know my mother adored you fuck she bought you anything"
"I totally forgot about that.."
Ahrens innocent eyes stared into Joel's, he bit his lip and Joel's heart began to race his love for the boy was indeed growing, if only Ahren knew how much he truly loved him.
After twenty minutes had passed and multiple whines the two left the warm house, as the door was locked the two saw the fresh snow flying in the air, the sky littered with snowflakes, Ahren began sticking his younger out trying to get one on his tongue.
"String! You'll catch a cold, and I don't wanna deal with that, you literally hate taking medicine."
Ahren poured and chuckled jumping on Joel's back, wrapping his arms around his neck, pulling himself closer to his best friend, he sighed grinning ear to ear.
"Hey Joel?"
"What is it string?"
"What's gonna happen to me when I go back home..?"
Joel's heart started to hurt just thinking that he would have to go home and get beaten by his parents, Joel's eyes began to water and quickly blinked them away.
"Nothing, your strong you can fight them off and if it gets tough you literally have a key to the house"
"I swear you're to kind to me, sometimes I wish someone else was in my place.."
Joel's eyes shot open wide he couldn't believe that his beautiful boy just said such a thing
"Honestly, Ahren if anything I don't deserve such a beautiful and talented person. In my eyes your perfect."
Ahrens checks were dusted a rosy pink and Joel chuckled as he saw that small grin on his face, as they walked the snow fell onto their jackets and melted from the body heat, the sky was shadowed by the dying trees as the leaves left the branches to re-grow for the coming season, slowly Joel walked through the gates of the cemetery and walked up to the small white bench they was placed next to his mothers silver stone tomb, Ahren hugged Joel tighter as a form of comfort, suddenly Ahren jumped off Joel's back and stood next to him glancing down at the grave
"Days like these I wish she was here to tell me everything is okay, but I have you still and that's all I need" Joel's checks couldn't have been any more red
"Oh shucks String, so why did you want to come here?"
"Because your mother was the only mother figure in my life that didn't abuse me, she was the sweetest person and sometimes I wish I could feel her arms around us like when we were younger.. I adored her love and your father, at the hospital when you found me almost he almost killed my parents, he was just as amazing and to me honesty you had a perfect family that I wish I had.. but I have you and that's good enough for me.."
As Ahren spoke he looked away at a Willow trees leaves which covered the grass below it, Joel grinned picking up String and carrying him to the beautiful tree
" you know how about we take a nap here?"
"Sounds like a great idea, as long as I'm here with yo-"
Ahrens eyes shut closed, he was extremely tired as he had a nightmare the night before he imagined that he was gasping for air, he was chained to the bottom of the ocean, he couldn't find any light, and there was no path to escape he was like an anchor at sea
The tree gave off shade to cover the two boys as they both fell asleep in the arms of one another. The snow blew across the tree and in a faint shadow a woman with shoulder length hair and a white night gown was looking down at the boys, her eyes a warm chocolate brown,
"I knew you'd find your light Joel.. keep him safe he's your soulmate cherish him, I love you."
