My heart was beating at a rapid speed, while Adam was dragging me to Jess's car. He started taking his phone out from his pocket and he dropped my arm while dialing a number.

"Hey, man I need you to pick me up right now. Where are you?"

He started to walk away and spoke privately into the phone while I knelt down and bent my knees to catch my breath. As soon as I knelt down, I felt the adrenaline rising to my throat, and I threw up on the sidewalk while people were staring.

Bad move.

Jess saw me and dropped her jaw. She immediately tossed her bag and phone into her car and ran to me.

Adam saw her approaching me so he went to talk to her but she dodged everything he was saying.

"Rihanna! What happened? Come on you can't go back to the hospital, you just got out for gods sake!" I sat on the curb not wanting to move anywhere anytime soon. I need to process everything that happened just a few minutes ago.

Rob was here. How did he find me? Why can't he just go and hunt down my father for all I care! He left me alone when my mother died and made me suffer when he used to go overdose. He makes me suffer even when he isn't here!

Before I knew it, I was sobbing on the floor while Adam and Jess were arguing a few feet away from me. I wiped away my tears and stood up. I approach them and they didn't even notice my presence with their heated argument, I tapped Jess on the shoulder and snapped at me

"What?" I raised my eyebrows at her and I can tell she regretted saying that the second it left her mouth. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to say that to you." I nodded and then I looked at Adam I gave him a small smile

"Thanks for saving my ass back there." He immediately fired with questions, "Who was that? What did he want? You owe me an explanation after that. Do you need anyth-" I stared at him while zoning out.

I don't even understand our relationship status right now, one minute he is annoying asshole, the next he's knocking out a complete stranger for messing with me. A silver Dodge Charger came out from the back of the parking lot, causing a roaring sound. Adam stopped talking and turned his attention to the car. A really fit man came out of the car, waving at Adam.

"What took you so long man?" Adam's mood quickly went from 0-100 really quick once he looked at the blonde man.

"Sorry, traffic." He took in Adam's bloody knuckles and face then gave him a concerned look. The man can't be any older than me, he waved at me and Jess then he lightly punched Adam in the shoulder. He gave me a million dollar smile and we shook hands,

"Hey, I'm Liam." Damn, I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. "I'm Rihanna, nice to meet you." I smiled at him and he introduced himself to Jess without breaking eye contact with me. Adam coughed and said,

"Well I should get going now, but Rihanna once you get back to your dorm, you're explaining all this bullshit to me and who he was, okay?" I narrowed my eyes and crossed my arms,

" And what if I don't?" He tried to hide his smile as he leaned in and whispered to me, "Then there will be severe consequences, Rihanna Campbell." I backed away from him feeling uncomfortable, "I'm anxious to learn more about these severe consequences, Adam Stone."
