"Well not everyone is connected to that element." I spat. Whitlock looked at me as if he were hurt. "Still! I can't believe I got my power before you! That's so cool!" he began to laugh as he finished. He seemed to be rather happy about his new discovery. "First, don't say 'cool' it makes you sound lame. Second," I continued, "as long as you don't shock me, I'm fine with you being the lightning boy. Personally, I think, electrokinesis doesn't fit you as well as you may think. You think you're The Flash now don't you? More like a electric chicken." He looked at me silently pleading me to change the subject.
We began to walk faster, seeing as the bell was going to ring soon. We were almost running then, trying to get to literacy class on time. It was late, 5:00 maybe, but this was normal, seeing as this was a school for the gifted and magical children. We were on time for the class, but I had still had not found my power. "Some people take longer, but they are more powerful. Don't doubt yourself!" read the note that landed on my desk. I looked up trying to figure out who had dropped the note on my desk. Then something happened; there was a flash and suddenly, I was floating about a foot and a half in the air. Water was surrounding me I realized only then that I was controlling it. I feel with a thud. Everyone was staring at me with wide eyes. I found my powers. I say powers because when I went to speak, I found my voice to be smooth and charming. I was afraid of what would come. I was afraid of my trial. My trial.....
