Chapter 1: Sienna

(Flashback)
It was time for school. I was giving my parents trouble like usual. My mother and I never got along, I of course accepted my dad more. He was understanding and was patient with me.

They got me out of the car and my dad told me that's it's okay if no one likes me right now, because someone eventually will see my uniqueness. I met Sienna Montgomery that very day. I was that girl who no one liked, because they needed someone to not like. With Sienna, she came to me one day at recess with a caterpillar. She wanted some water to wash it from the faucet by the fence I was sitting against. She looked at me and smiled.

"Hey, do you want to be mommy to this caterpillar with me?" Sienna grinned huge and started petting the caterpillar.

I honestly didn't know what to say. I thought this was a joke till I noticed she was serious. I couldn't turn down this offer.

"Yes! I would love to be mommy with you! Can I hold it?" I asked Sienna. She handed the caterpillar to me and told me it is a her and her name is "Cantaloupe." I was to excited to finally have a friend to question her weird naming abilities.

It was my job to hold our Cantaloupe. I put her in my pencil case, but something bad happened. Cantaloupe suffocated in there and at lunch we had to flush her down the toilet.

Despite killing our Cantaloupe, Sienna still wanted to be friends with me. We arranged to have a play date today after school with our parents. My dad was so happy for me to finally have a friend. My mom, I think she was happy too. My brother, Bennett, didn't really care.

Honestly, I'm just glad I have a friend. A friend who is going to love me no matter my flaws.
