It was happening again and she was gone. She started walking down the familiar street to her familiar house. She was used to this; the houses, the people, the world, the dream. Jane knew this wasn't real, this place where everything was okay, and nothing seemed wrong.

Soon arriving at the house, she opened the front door and surveyed the area, there was no mess. No dishes, stray clothes, or broken beer bottles. Leaving the front door open, she turned to her left and walked down the hall to the back bedroom. The door was already open; the walls coated in a boring gray paint, the once wrinkled blue, rose patterned bed set was now neatly made up. Though, the room still smelled of blood and sweat, she wrinkled her freckle covered nose at the stench. She never thought, much less wanted, to locate the source of the smell. Jane closed the bedroom door and moved onto his room. The man she had once loved who had hurt her and betrayed her beloved trust on numerous occasions. Jane hesitated before she wrapped her hand around the cold door knob, turning and twisting did nothing so she pressed her shoulder to the door and pushed to no avail. A sigh left her pale lips. She then walked out of the house, leaving the home as alone and empty as she.

There was a park that she was headed to only a few blocks away. As she arrived she tugged on the sleeves of her withering hoodie and sat on a swing. After sitting there for a few short moments, her eyes fell upon a crumpled paper that lay on the ground beneath her. She knew what it was and picked it up. She opened it and it read;

PLEASE WAKE UP

And as normal she woke up. Her wrists were still loosely tied to the headboard but besides that, she was free. Quickly and quietly she slipped out of the ropes. Grabbing pieces of clothes from the floor, she stumbled into the bathroom. Jane frowned as she looked in the mirror. With her slender fingers she gently traced over the newly purpling bruises and yellowing cuts. She cut on the shower and stepped under the hot water. The mirror got cloudy as time passed. The water was loud in her ears whilst it burned the open wounds. A loud slamming of the front door could be heard, she knew he was coming quickly, but before she could turn to look at him everything went black.
