I wake up in darkness. Complete darkness. I'm aware only of my friend's breathing somewhere to my right, and the tough ropes rubbing at my wrists. Several things run through my mind, though many of them are just scattered pieces of memories.

The bus creaks and groans under the weight of the six of us. I poke Seania and, as she looks over at me, point towards a beautiful view of the mountains. We had gone for a hiking trip in Kyrat.

I breathe heavily as my matted hair falls in front of my eyes.

We keep driving along the rocky dirt road, getting closer and closer to what looks to be a military-guarded gateway.

"Seania? You okay?" I whisper, trying to hide my fear.

The guide, Darpan, motions to us and tells us to give him our passports. We do so, almost reluctantly. The tall man notices the guy next to Seania looking a little skeptical, and smiles weakly.

"Breathe. I'll do the talking," he says. The man doesn't respond, nor does his expression change.

As we near the gate and slow down, I hear yelling outside. The driver seems to be having an argument with one of the guards. I start tapping my foot nervously.

"Yeah," I hear a shaky, accented voice whisper back to me. I sigh a little with relief, having heard another human voice.

I feel the tension grow in the van as the voices get louder. The man in the blue jacket looks out the window, his pointer finger tapping against his leg. All of a sudden, the truck shudders as I hear someone fall out.

They dragged the driver out of the van.

I grab Seania's hand for comfort as I hear one of the guards yelling insults in another language. I glance over at Darpan, who has a disconcerted look on his face.

"It's gonna be okay. It's gonna be okay." I whisper over and over to myself, though it was a massive lie.

Suddenly, there are gunshots and the doors swing open, light shedding into the van. Two guards stand in front of us, cross looks distorting their faces. One by one, we're all dragged out of the van. I'm thrown onto the hard dirt ground, the guy in the blue jacket landing next to me. He gets up first, automatically asking me if I'm okay and holding his hand out to me. I reluctantly take it, brushing myself off as well.

Soon, footsteps from afar are heard, slowly growing louder. A door suddenly opens, revealing a silhouette of a man in the doorway. I squint at the sudden light shining through the doorway, and glance next to me. Seania's arms are also bound, a trickle of blood sliding down her head.

We're pushed to an open area, where Darpan is thrown on the ground in front of us. The sound of wind roars behind us, and I turn to see a helicopter coming closer to the hill. When it lands, a man in a bright pink suit with white hair waltzes out.

"Get up," the mysterious man orders us with an Indian accent. I spit on the ground in front of me before saying, "No." He looks over at me, his appearance becoming more clear. Dark, spiky hair rests atop his head, a serious look on his face. Though the more he looks at me, the more his dull frown turns into a small smirk.

"Well, I guess you can untie those ropes by yourselves then?" I glare at him, then notice the symbol on his jacket. Two golden swords meeting. The same emblem I saw on one of the boxes inside of the tourist van. My eyes widen a little.

The man in the suit walks straight towards what seems to be the leader of the guards. They talk for a little, and I can't help but notice that the poor guy seems scared of the white-haired authority. Then, without warning, the man takes out a pen and stabs the military leader in the neck. They fall to the ground, the man in the pink suit yelling something while he continues to stab the man in the neck.

I hear Seania gasp behind me, and I shut my eyes until the horrible sounds stop.

"You're not one of them...?" I ask cautiously. A kind smile replaces the man's smirk.

"No. I am with the Golden Path. My name is Sabal."

The man in the pink suit sits on the ground, muttering about how blood got all over his shoes. He then gets up and seems to finally notice the three strangers looking at him murdering someone. Eyeing each one of us closely, his crazed smile grows larger, finally stopping at the man next to me in the blue jacket.

He walks forward and cuts our bounds off. I rub my wrists tenderly, and Seania runs over to me and hugs me. I hug her back weakly, feeling stranger by the minute.

The white-haired man looks at the man, who looks back with fierce brown eyes.

"I'd recognize those eyes anywhere."

Sabal motions for us to follow him. We walk out of the dank cell, and light finally engulfs me. He leads us through a series of hallways, his knife glinting mischievously in his grip. Finally, we reach a set of huge wooden doors, each side guarded by a man in the same jacket as Sabal. Each of them are holding guns. The man in the blue jacket also stands next to one of the doors. His knees are bent, like he's about to start a race.

The pink-suited man hugs the other awkwardly. He says something about a "party" waiting for us, then starts walking back towards the helicopter. I remember one last thing he said, before dusty burlap sacks are thrown over our heads.

"'Cause you and I, are going to FUCK SHIT UP!"

Sabal tells us to run and keep our heads down, to run for the truck. I resist the urge to retort something back at him. He counts down.

"3....2....1. GO!"

The doors open to reveal a battle scene. Men and women in blue/gold jackets battle those in military uniform. Several bodies lay on the ground, blood pooling in mini red puddles. Me, Seania, and the other guy sprint out. I see a navy-colored truck in the distance, a driver talking on a radio inside. It must be it.

We keep running until we reach it. The man climbs in the front, while me and Seania hop into the back and grip onto the sides. The truck lurches forewords, while gunshots and battle cries explode all around us. My hair whips against the wind, and my eyes tear up as the wind dries them.

We're going extremely fast on a narrow dirt road now, and I have nothing to do but fear for my life as I hold on. I cough as the tires shoot up dust clouds that engulf us in their musty smells. Soon, we get far enough from the palace that the gunshots are no longer heard. It's almost peaceful. Seania smiles weakly back at me, and I fake one for her. I sigh in relief, that no one got hurt.

Yet.

All of a sudden, two red trucks round the corner ahead of us, one of which with a manned-gun on the back it. It starts shooting at us, and I scream and duck, pulling Seania down with me. The driver's window breaks, and he hands me a shotgun. Bewildered, I take it. He yells something about it already being loaded. I aim at the gunman at the truck.

CH-CHA...BOOM

The gun shoots, and I see a splash of red emerge from the gunman's chest. Bile rises in my throat, and I fight to swallow it down. The man falls off the truck, unbeknownst to the drivers and other military members. Suddenly, the other truck runs into the back of ours, the dashboard shattering and sending shards of glass into me and Seania. We both scream as our truck goes over a road block and starts crashing down the hill.

Screaming.

Falling.

Crashing.

Pain.

Then, black.
