"Don't be such a buzzkill, Summer"
My best friend Liz had a flair for being dramatic. And this particular tantrum was caused by the simple fact that I didn't want a birthday party. To normal people this seems like a reasonable request, but Liz was most certainly not normal.

"You need to have a fùcking birthday party" she scowled at me. I sighed loudly and rolled my eyes. About two seconds after I let out the breath she had my shirt balled in her fist and her face close to mine.

"You fùcking bag of dicks" she half shouted/half mumbled into my ear. I was used to her hostility, but the teacher strolling past wasn't. He came trotting over and pulled her off me.

Liz burst into a fit of giggles and I shook my head.

"We were just messing around sir" I grabbed hold of Liz's arm and we walked away.

"What a crap excuse for a teacher, honestly" she rolled up the sleeves of her signature blue hoodie and opened the door of her locker.

"Maybe if you toned town the violence a bit-" I tried to speak but as usual, I was interrupted.

"Um I don't actually care about your opinion at this moment Summer the bummer" she turned and gave me her best fake smile, which isn't the most convincing thing on earth.

"Don't call me that, and I don't get why you want a party so badly"

She wiped her face on her sleeve and placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Summer, I love you but your actually the dumbest person on earth, after Evans" she stated, her voice full of that fake kindness that Liz was so well known for.

And then, as if speaking her name had summoned her, Jennifer Evans appeared in the hall.

"Well if it isn't the worlds most unsuccessful lesbian" Liz mocked as soon as Evans leaned against the row of lockers. Seeing Liz and Jen stand next to each other is weird, even for me.

Elizabeth Pricilla Ward had fiery red hair that curled and twisted its way to her lower back. Her face was clear of any freckles, despite the paleness of her skin. She was tall and lean and thanks to years of boxing, she was one of the strongest people I knew. She was about 10 centimetres taller than the biggest basketball player at our school.

Jennifer Ann Evans had short hair that she died black and always had gelled into a quiff. She had the opposite body type to Liz. She was average height, and always had issues with her body image. She wasn't skinny by any means, but she also wasn't dangerously large. She looked perfectly fine to me, but she never could look at her self and think she was attractive. She dressed in "male" clothes and spoke with a constantly raspy voice. It was kind of endearing actually.

"Ah, well if it isn't the worlds most bitter sociopath" Evans shot back without even hesitating. I just stood there while they bickered, usually it takes about ten minutes for them to shut up.

But today there's a more important topic.

"So Evans, although your crap at making decisions, I'd like your opinion on one dilemma I'm currently dealing with" Liz titled her head to the left and Evans looked confused.

"What dilemma?" She asked in that sandpaper voice of hers.

Cue Liz's creepy smile.

"Summer doesn't think she should have a birthday party"

Evans turned her head slowly towards me and cocked an eyebrow.

"Why?" She asked calmly, Liz's face turned red,

"Because I don't really see the point" I sighed.

"Fair enough-" Evans started but was interrupted.
