one month later-
how many times have I cried sitting next to her? it's too much. I cannot stop myself, I beg her to wake up, tell her little things but to me it seems she's slipping.

I sit under a tree. the sun's settings and a slight breeze is in the air. i close my eyes, breathe in.
a small giggle pierces the air, my eyes fly open. (y/n). "you've got a bit of chocolate on your cheek, love" I touch my face, then hers. "chocolate? you? (y/n)?" "who else, silly?" she laughs, "here I'll get it" she pulled a napkin from a basket that sits by her + wipes my cheek, "there" I stare at her and she holds my gaze, eyes glowing.
"(y/n)!" i grab her suddenly + hold on tightly. "damon!" she throws her head back, laughing. I start to cry.
"(y/n), I love you so goddamn much, don't you ever leave me again" (y/n) draws back suddenly, looking confused,
"what? who - who are you?"
I jolt, breathing heavy. still in the uncomfortable hospital chair, I cover my face and try to breathe.
I lean over and touch (y/n)'s warm hand, when she twitches I whisper to her. "it's me, babe" she twitches again. I sigh, " y'know what's funny (y/n)? i sit here everyday and cry and beg but you never wake up and it's so goddamn funny cause what the hell did I do to deserve this?" tears roll down my face, "but anyway," I sniffed,"I love you, okay? I do. forever. for as long as I can. until the world ends,(y/n). just...just wake up. wake up and I'll do the rest, I'll do anything. just. wake. up." there wasn't a noise nor movement at all and I stood up, sighing," I'm going to the café, alright? I'll be back. I love you."
I stood in the pizza line when someone suddenly tapped my shoulder. I turned to see the boys of Pierce the Veil staring back. "guys," I smiled slightly,"hey". they each greeted me in a hug.
"she still asleep?" Tony said quietly. I nodded sadly. Mike squeezed his shoulder," why don't we go see her,Tone?" Tony nodded. "I'll go with." Jaime commented + the three left. Vic followed me to a table. "how are you?" he questioned. "dandy" I replied. "she'll wake up, D. (y/n)'s strong, you know that better than anyone." I nodded, exhausted. "im just scared, y'know?" he nodded, grimly, probably thinking my exact thoughts. "she'll always love yo-"
"guys!" someone yelled. we looked up to see Jaime running towards us. tears streaming down his face, "she's awake,Damon! she's awake" he shook me and I froze.
both Vic and Jaime grabbed me and dragged me to the elevator. I snapped back into reality, "no, I'm taking the stairs."
and I ran.
when I made it to the room, Tony stood in the doorway. "she's awake?" I asked, out of breath. "yes, but damon-" I pushed past, ignoring him. (y/n) sat, eyeing curiously everywhere. "(y/n)" I gasped. her eyes centred on mine. neither of us moved or said a thing.
I watched her until it registered..
"she doesn't know us, damon"
someone said. she looked on.
she. doesn't. remember.
(y/n) doesn't remember me.
remember us.
she smiled awkwardly," hi,um, I'm (y/n), or so the tell me," she laughed nervously, "who...um, who are you?"
my mouth opened, but all that came out was a sob.
