The 8th Escapee

Chapter 6 Challenge

  "I know that Steph and I were the last to arrive, but shouldn't we check if there is another exit?"

  "We checked everything before you got here, and no other exits were found." I answered.

  "Then let's go."

Each group stood in front of their respective doors, ready to go. We did what the voice told us, we put the tablet next to the sensor. *Ding* "Number entered successfully." And the door opened. Leading to a dark hallway, we looked at each other and headed in.

As soon as we crossed, the door slammed shut behind us, leaving us in the dark for a few seconds. We walked for some time before finding a door that wasn't locked.(What's the point of having doors if they are locked? Well, more fun for me.)

  "Here!" Called Shadow. "This one is open."

We came to Shadow and she let us see what was behind door number 1.

  "A MUSIC ROOM!!" I screamed.(I really like music, sue me.) "Look at all those instruments!!"

  "Are you a musician Rebecca?" Asked Steph.

  "No, I'm a..." I stopped myself from telling the truth. They didn't need to know it...yet. I wouldn't ruin another possibility of friendship. "That's not important right now, we need to press on."

  "Keeping secrets are we?" Teased Shadow.

  "Look who's talking 'Shadow'." I talked back

  "Ok, no fighting in the music room. Let's find a way out." Said Drake.

  "There is a door in the far end of this room. Given the place we're in, I would say it,s locked as well. So, we need to find a key. Let's start looking." Deduced Shadow.

  "She's right, I went to see if it was open, it wasn't." Informed Steph.(She was so cute.)

  "Ok, let,s start looking for that key." I agreed.

We spent 10 minutes looking around the room, and found absolutely nothing. The key was nowhere to be found. I was almost giving up, when Steph shouted from near the exit door.

  "DRAKE!! What are the names for the musical notes?"

  "They go from C to G and them from A to C. Why?" Answered him.

  "No, not those, the other names, like dot, rec, those names."

  "I think you mean Dó, Ré, Mi, Fá, Sol, Lá, Sí, Dó. But why do you need them?" I asked.

  "We missed this thing here, engraved on the door. It says 'Mi Ré# Mi Ré# Mi Sí Ré Dó Lá'. I think we need to play this in order to open the door."

  "Good finding Steph!" Congratulated Drake. "But, how are we going to play it?"

  "There are a lot of instruments here, it would take hours to find the notes in each and play them." Complained Shadow.

  "I think the piano knows something we don't know. It is missing a few keys. And all of the missing keys are used in the song." I observed.

  "Great, now we need to find keyS instead of A key." Shadow complained again.

  "Gods, you can be so annoying when you want." I said.

  "That's one of my many talents."

We searched for a few more minutes. This time, Drake found something.

  "Hey guys, come look at this."

  "What is it?" Asked Shadow.

  "Look at this xylophone, it's kinda wierd."
 
  "Isn't this one key a piano key?" Said Steph.
