Alone she was as usual. Sitting at the cold, smelling bar she always was at. Her chilled, pale fingers grasping another shot of gin. Hallucinations crossed her mind the same as every night for that past week. Her glare was blank and dark purple bags surrounded her hazel eyes. Slamming the cup down she beckons to the bartender asking for another. The bartender refuses as she stands up ferociously repeating her question. Whilst establishing her fearsome dominance the bartender scurried away whilst flipping up the steel rod to pour the woman a glass of beer. Whilst staring at the almost empty dance floor her eyes look upon a young male holding a pint of beer laughing with his friends. Something caught her eye about him though, he wasn't too bold nor too shy. He wasn't too dumb yet too smart he was just perfect in her opinion. She wasn't all bold herself after just going through a heavy divorce from a two year marriage. She said she was never to marry or get together with another man again. At least that's what she thought. She reminisced the words she said on her fateful night as she slyly took the glass of beer the bartender kindly lent her.
"Maika, its closing time in two minutes. Do you have a place to stay at least?" The bartender asked as if it always happened. Slouching over the counter she groggily replied
"No. No I do-" she was stopped abruptly by a smooth, voice saying
"Yes James, she's coming with me tonight"
James gave a smug smile towards Maika as she turned to face the man she was looking at earlier. Her face lit up as she slowly gained red glowing patches across her cheeks. James walked off cleaning the glasses and whistled walking merrily into the store room. Maika humbly asked
"Stranger danger" as she let out a small, forced chuckle.
The man introduced himself to her as Ashem. Maika' gaze fixed on her glass as she asked Ash why he wanted to her to come to his house. Ashem's response delayed after she asked. He nodded and beckoned for Maika to meet Ash near the exit. Maika stumbles over the door stop as she simultaneously tries to pull her coat sleeve over her broad shoulder. Ash kindly helps her as his soft touch collides with her existence. A midnight black Mercedes pulls up and a white-suited chauffeur approaches them. Ashem looks distinctly at Maika whilst softly removing the black hairs from her face.
"Lets go" he said " We haven't got all day."
