SETTING

When Christianity formed, it never gained the traction it did today. The jewish population found it too different from the scripture of the torah, and didn’t agree with Jesus being the messiah, while the pagan population didn’t like it for its heavy anti-pagan message. While Christianity was growing, the pagan cults in the region started taking ideas from the emerging Christians instead of converting and saw a figure in the religion that fit well with their views, Satan. The pagan cults saw him not as a vile fallen angel that embodies rsge and an absence of god's love, but as a spiritual entity representing free will and resistance of authority, which connected with them due to the Roman incursion at the time. The pagan satanist beliefs were reinforced when the Christian influence had reached the upper levels of Rome, replacing the roman religion and eventually leading to the persecution of the satanic pagans, known as the Cleansing of Jerusalem. Named after where the first executions were held, the Cleansing lasted from 325AD to 630AD.

Between this time, a new religion formed, Islam. With the rise of Satanic Paganism and the continued existence of the Christian Roman Empire, Islam didn’t reach the size or influence it did in modern day. Nevertheless, it gained a sizeable following and waged a war, starting in 627AD on the Christian Roman Empire, managing to drive it out of the Middle East via alliances with the Pagan Satanists in 631AD. Before the war, the pagan satanists had joined together into one large religion, known as the Left Hand Path, due in large part to the persecution from Christians. During the war, ideas from both Islam and Christianity molded with the ideas of the Left Hand Path to make “Traditional Satanism.” Traditional Satanism later became the dominant version of Satanism, and is considered the dividing point between Pagan Satanism and Modern Satanism. Muhammad was disturbed by this, but was unable to act on the Satanists due to both the war against the Christian Roman Empire and the necessity of their alliance. Traditional and Left Hand Path Satanism grew immensely during the war, with Islam in comparison only gaining a moderate amount of followers. After the war, many muslims viewed Satanism in a good light, and many rejected the idea that the Satanists were nothing but heretics.

In 632AD, Muhammad died, causing the Sunni-Shia split. The 2 forms of Satanism took advantage of this and gained an immense amount of followers. Ideas from Islam became more deeply incorporated than before. In 701AD, the Christian Roman Empire launched a crusade into the Middle East, focused mostly around the destruction of Satanism and the reclamation of Jerusalem. The crusade lasted over 300 years in 13 distinct campaigns. This resulted in a Christian loss, an economic emergency in Europe; which the Christian Roman Empire had gained control of during the crusade, and the complete loss of the Islamic faith, which was incorporated into Satanic and Christian dogma. Peace remained from the end of the crusades in 1002AD until 1634AD, with a few small scale skirmishes inbetween. Christianity in this time period focused upon its empire, mainly guarding its borders and converting the population of Europe into Christians, namely Catholics. Satanism, on the other hand, had a more complex history. During this timeline, the divide between the Left Hand Path and Traditional Satanism grew deeper. While no major wars broke out, tensions between the two caused them to expand in the hopes of claiming their own lands. Satanism in general expanded down Africa, which welcomed the religion easier due to its heavier Islamic influence and similarities between its already present pagan religions.

Within this time period, great strides were made in science and medicine. Due to the incorporation of Islamic practices in both Christianity and Satanism, both were more tolerant of science than real life Christianity. WIth this came great strides in weaponry. The advances in science drove weaponry to near modern levels by the 1600’s. Automatic rifles became a reality, crude steam powered cars and trains were also formed, and prototypes for aircraft were being tested for military use. Explosives and firearms became common amongst soldiers, but body armor technology was little more than thick metal chest plates, as the production of kevlar was still undiscovered. Electricity was discovered in 1564AD, though in coal and steam form only. In 1634, the Christian nation of Bero and the Satanic nation of Cal began fighting due to the rise of a conservative leader in Bero. When the fighting began, the HCE saw it as an opportunity to launch another crusade into the now mostly satanic Africa. After launching its first attack, the Satanic nations in the Middle East and Africa created an alliance and launched a counter-attack. The HCE and the Satanic Union began a massive war between each other, which would become known as the Judgement War. The Judgement War brought immense destruction throughout the Middle East and Europe, causing millions of deaths amongst both the Christian and Satanic populations. During this war, the Christian sects Acpostosces and the Clasped Hand Path formed. The Acpostosces were a group of Christians who sought cooperation with the Satanists, and the Clasped Hand Path was a Christian cult that incorporated pagan practices into their worship. The Satanists also developed 2 sects of their own, the Sulenian and Levizelablo sects. The Sulenians were a group of Satanists who sought peace with the Christians, and the Levizelablo were a group of borderline heretics who thought that Satan’s power was shared between 4 demons; Satan, Leviathan, Beelzebub, and Diablat.
