The amazing smell of coffee surrounds her, as she walks into the café. She smiles at an elderly lady, while she with confident steps passes by her and reaches across the counter, to give the boy behind it, a big hug.
After letting go of each other, he gives her a massive grin and immediately starts talking about what she's missed. One of the toilets being blocked, a man ordering a latte without milk, et cetera.
She listens intensely, laughs as he imitates their manager and greets her co-workers as they rush by them to complete different customers' needs.
They're five at work today, which is normal, considering it being Saturday. However, the space behind the counter is limited, and the guy she's talking to, is convinced that the blond guy has given him at least three broken toes, by stepping on them.
A blond, tall and slender girl rushes out from the staff room, yelling for the girl to go get changed. The guy gives her a cheeky smile, and goes back to serving a cup of black coffee.

I pull the coffee stained shirt over my head, and step into my comfortable sneakers. I was supposed to buy some new, some without holes in the soles. But I can't make myself throw these out. They fit perfectly, are comfortable as hell and have a permanent layer of coffee grind on them - they have sentimental value!
I shake the thought while pulling my big curls into a bun, and step out into the café. It's one of the great things about being at work. Besides the fact that I love it here, it turns off the train of thoughts I usually tend to have, and all I have to think about is making the customers happy.
Alex is by the coffee machine, Maggie's preparing a wrap, Emil is taking orders and I assume Rhys is doing the dishes. So I grab a bucket and start to collect the dirty glasses and plates around the café.
