It Started With A Thought

One Simple Word

It's the mothers arms

As she holds her newborn babe

Its the mans laugh

as he plays with the toddler 

Its the grandpas smile

as he gves her a gift

Its the grandmas voice

as she praises her grandchild

Its the best friends hug

as she comforts the girl

Its the little brother tug

as he begs his sister to play

Its the puppies lick

as he greets his best friend

It the neighbor boys eyes

as he stares in the girl-next-door

Its the girls tears

as she realizes she"ll never have it

Its the boys wish

for her to realize she does

Its that special glance

That they suddenly share

Its the strange reason why

She suddenly want to see him

Its the twittering of her heart

as he walks on by

It the twinkle in his eye

As he asks her on a date

Its  small gasp

When he starts to kneel down

Its the smile on her cheeks

as she says "Yes"

Its the simple kisses

before they leave to work

Its the look on his face

when she tells him of the new family member

Its the sudden relief

as the child is born

Its the mans arms

as he hugs his new family

It is then 

that we restart this poem

this poem about one simple word
