I laughed, 4am, the morning you took your leave,

I Laughed.

I rolled my eyes, sighed, and drifted back to sleep,

Here, Now i lay,

Wide Awake,

Too numb to cry.

Three years later, yet to figure out why,

i still hear the car alarm blare, how i laughed,

too arrogant to care.

Afternoon came, softly and silently as often it will,

In that moment, time stood still.

I sank to my knees, eyes drifting shut.

Heart, Shattering,  in the deafening silence.

There are no words, no whispers I've found,

that will hold me safe now that you're not around.

But gently, in the dead of night, you'll cover me with your holy light.

A kiss on my head, a brush on my cheek,

it's time at last to get some sleep.

I know my love, i'm not alone.

Close your eyes, i'll soon be home.
