Part One: Shadows And Ice - Chapter Three

Start from the beginning

Adam gave a feral grin at the three, "I have to agree, Assistant Guardian" he replied, *What do you think the punishment should be for them?* he asked me, *I am not sure what to do with them, as they are pups. Their parents, on the other hand...*

I looked at Shawn and then at the three youngsters who were looking very unsure of themselves. *Wish I could show them what it's like to be surrounded by people they don't understand. If my Pride was nearby I'd go with them to spend a week among cats... it would be lesson to show them what it's like for Shawn, but alas that isn't possible.*

*Hmmm... I think it is, but will be some work to set up. Nam Cho Pride is not too far away...* he replied, with savage pleasure. *It will take some time to get it set up*

Adam looked the Alpha as he gave the pronouncement, "You three pups are in big trouble. You have broken a major rule. Guests are to be protected. Guests are not to be harmed. It doesn't matter what they are, whether it be another wolf, a human, a cat, a bear, a fox. It is not right. You three are confined to your rooms."

Looking at the parents, he was looking even more upset. "You three have failed in instructing your pups, and teaching them right from wrong."

"But they are just boys, it's normal." The defiant mother said.

Adam shook his head, and spoke loudly, so the teachers and the other pups could hear, "There is no acceptable reason for being a bully. The next one that allows it, or participates will be dealt harshly. I will not accept it, and Brook agrees." Turning back to the parents, "As such, you will have your own punishments. You will be confined to your rooms with your pups, where you both will be provided with a copy of the combined pack history. You will work with your pup for the next week to find out where you went wrong, and find out cases where that caused major problems. You will be permitted to spend meals with the pack, but the rest of the time you are in your room. Once this is done, the pups will be visiting the Nam Cho Pride, one at a time, for a week, so that you each can feel what it is like to be different than the other young. If you are found to be a bully again, I will have to be very harsh with you."

"That's not fair!" the same mother complained.

Adam gave a feral grin, "Well, then you are welcome to leave the pack. Till then, my judgement stands. You may go. The records are available on your computer." The mother shook her head while the rest looked shocked, and all six quickly left, as soon as the alpha's attention was off them.

I paid attention to Adam and listen as he pronounced judgement in this situation and contrasted it with the cases of similar actions at the Pride. His punishment was pretty much what I'd suggested, with a few of his own adjustments and I thought it would be a good way to wake the pups up about the world outside the safety of their Pack.

Adam turned to Shawn, "Do you think that is acceptable?" he asked gently.

Shawn looked at Adam, and after a moment he nodded, "Yes Alpha Adam," He said, I'd already taught him the proper addresses for the important people here and he could feel that Adam's dominance was similar to my own, with the twist of him being an Alpha while I wasn't yet quite that strong yet.

"Adam if you don't mind I think it's well past time I visit that mind healer. If anything, these pups have made Shawn's problems worse than they were before." I told him standing up slowly while Shawn clung to me.

Adam nodded, "I'll take you down to see Beth. I want to make sure the bruise is the worst Shawn has got from those three miscreants." Turning to Shawn, when they were in the hall, "You can call me just Adam. I don't bother being formal, for the most part." At his nod, Adam smiled, "You'll like Beth, she's fun. She was turned when Zane rescued her, as she would have died otherwise, when she fell into the water when she was rafting at a school graduation event."
