Pupear is the main protagonist, daughter of Whitemoon, a white and gray male, and Feather, a white and gray female. Of course, Pupear is red. How is this possible?
We'll be taking genotypes into account. My knowledge on genes is somewhat limited, but I still know enough to explain this. Feather's mom was red with light gray markings and amber-yellow eyes, kind of like Pupear but without the tan underbelly and flopped ears.
Feather's dad was very light gray, almost white, with tan markings and ocean green eyes.
I'm not going to go into detail with Whitemoon's parents, but let's just say they had similar markings and eye colors.
The genotypes of Whitemoon and Feather are
Feather - RrTtWWYy, the red and tan colors being mostly recessive and white being completely dominant. Yellow eyes as well are mostly recessive.
Whitemoon - RrTtWwYy, once again red and tan being mostly recessive and white is somewhat dominant. Yellow eyes are recessive.
The more dominant side of red and tan fur came into play with the genotype of Pupear, as did the dominant side of the yellow eye genes. White, not so much. In Pupear, white is completely recessive and can only pass into her pups through her mate if he were to have white genes in him, which he will.
Pupear's genotype is RRTTWwYY
Likelihood of genotype: Rare (31.25%)
