Chapter 53

Ethan’s POV

Upon hearing the truth from Richard my heart were broken into pieces.  Not only because of the possibility that I will be loosing Nicomaine, but the fact that my brother is hurting again because of me.

I love them both so much, and it never came into my mind that this time will come where I have to choose between the two of them.

I do not know what to think anymore, when I heard knocks at my door. I saw Nicomaine when I opened it.

“Matutulog ka na ba Doc? Can we talk?” Nicomaine asked

“Of course, di ba mas masarap mag-usap kung may kape” I said

She smiled and said “Sige gagawa ako” then she left.

I went to the family room which is just beside my room.  I know Nicomaine will not be comfortable if we talk inside my room.  Noon ngang wala pa kaming ganitong issue, hindi sya pumapasok sa kwarto ko ngayon pang may ganitong kalaking problema.

She went into the family room with a tray of two cups of hot coffees when she saw me waiting for her there. 

“Tara, dito tayo sa terrace, mas presko dito” I said then get her the tray and put it on the table in the terrace

“Sorry sa walk-out ko kanina, saka sa hindi pagsabay sa dinner” She said

“No worries, naiintindihan ko” I replied

“Nabigla kasi ako sa sobrang dami ng revelations at bilis ng mga pangyayari” ang hirap i-absorbd agad-agad

“How are you?” I asked

“Hindi ko alam, parang ang gulo-gulo” she replied

“Then, ayusin natin isa-isa.  Saan mo gustong mag-umpisa?” I asked

“Bakit di mo sinabi sa akin na doctor din pala si Chef?” she asked

“Importante ba yun? Anyway, we both know Richard, hindi yan nagkukwento sa mga bagay na ayaw nyang pag-usapan and I respect that. Kung meron mang dapat na magsabi sayo ng anumang tungkol kay Richard, sya lang yun” I replied

“Nung nagkasakit ako, sino talaga ang gumamot sa akin?”

“Malamang sya, di ba doctor sya?” I replied

“Eh bakit sabi nya sayo galing yung mga prescriptions, so nagsisinungaling sya” – Nicomaine

“Well, lahat ng gamot na binigay nya sa’yo, he asked for my opinion.  So far, wala namang akong nakitang hindi tama dun sa mga binigay nyang gamot sa’yo” I said, though I’m starting to get confused on where this conversation is going to.       

“So Richard was telling a lie when he told me na prescriptions mo yung mga gamot na binigay nya sa akin” – Nicomaine

“Well, the fact that he got my consent on those medicines, technically it became my prescription as well” I replied

“Ako ba talaga si Dei?” she asked

“Yes you are” I replied

“How sure are you?”

“100% sure, I already asked Richard about it at inamin nya sa akin na ikaw nga si Dei”  I replied

"Pinaglalaruan ba ako ng kapatid mo?" She coldly asked

"What made you say that?" I asked in return

"Dahil nga nagsinungaling sya, hindi ko na alam kung alin sa mga pinapakita nya ang tutoo" she said as tears fall down.
