Demons Shadow

In the beginning

  People are strange. The entire human race is strange. All humans enter the world in the same way, but leave the world differently. Some humans that enter the world never leave it. There are beings in this world that are as old as time and have been here much longer then you and me. These beings have seen things that the people of today couldn't even imagine. They have been through the world's best times and its worst times. These beings have lived quietly amongst mankind for centuries. These beings are known as demons.

In the beginning,

  Centuries ago there was a kingdom that was filled with happy, peaceful and obedient people. The kingdom was led by a noble king, King Daniel Devour and throughout the king's reign there were four Queens.

  The first queen was Queen Coral. She gave the king three children, Danielle was the eldest of the three and was named after the king. Jesse and Alana were the kingdoms first twins. Many thought that the twins were a sign of evil. A month after the twins birth the queen became ill. None of the kingdoms herbs and medicine could heal the queen and the king turned to the kingdoms witches. The witches of the kingdom tried to help the queen but failed. Weeks later the queen's illness became worse and finally the queen died. Angry the king blamed the witches for her death and banned them outside the kingdom and banned all witchcraft. The king became careless for his people and became unhappy.

  Months later the king remarried to Margaret. Margaret was fair and kind to the king and his first children and loved them as her own. Margaret and the king had two children of their own. On the fourteenth day of the fifth month when the sun was at its highest point the queen gave birth to a son, James and on the seventeenth day of the second month when the moon was at its highest point the queen gave birth to a daughter Alex. Three months after the queen was executed for the use of witchcraft.

  The king's third wife was Zantana. Zantana like the late queen loved and cared for the children and gave the king twins, Cameron and Valerie. Queen Zantana ruled by King Daniel's side for nine years. She brought the king back to his old self, kind and noble to his people and his children. Then one night the queen disappeared and showed up on the doorstep of the palace dead.

  The last queen was Justine. Queen Justine had a short life as queen; she died nine months later, after the birth of her child Jackeline.

  Over the years Danielle took care of her younger siblings teaching them to read and write and taught them manners. Alana and Jesse became jealous of their sister and secretly started to learn the art of witchcraft. Every night they would sneak out of the house and out of the kingdom and wouldn't be back until dawn. Every night Valerie and Cameron would watch their siblings disappear into the night and every morning they would help them sneak back into the palace. Alana and Jesse shared their new tricks and spells with their younger siblings as long as they kept it a secret. Alex spent her days in the library reading books and maps of the world. James stayed in his room and practice the arts of combat. As for Jackeline she followed the guards around and wondered the palace playing games with her imaginary friends.

  Eventually Alana and Jesse got caught and they were banned from the kingdom. On the night before Danielle's eighteenth birthday the king threw a ball in her honor. The night was going smoothly then Alana and Jesses came back. They chanted in an ancient language. Fear struck through the royal family and one by one they fell to their knees screaming in pain.

  That night the Devour children became cursed and unholy. They became something else, they became monsters, creatures of the night, and they became demons.
