Skylar's P.O.V "Do we really have to move?", I ask, very annoyed. "Do we have to move so far away?", my twin sister Janiya asks, using the same tone as I did. "Girls, please. I need you to understand that we have to move. We don't have much money and this job is going to help us so much. We don't really have a choice", our Mother says with a sad look in her eyes. If our dad was here, he would've talked mom out of moving. He was the cool parent, as in most situations, but sadly he passed away 2 years ago. We all are still pretty upset about it. "I understand", I say as walk back inside to get more boxes. I stop in the doorway and sigh before I go back in the house. "I'm gonna miss the house so much. We grew up in this house!", Janiya yells. "Me too", is all I can say. I just pull her into a hug. I'm glad I have my sister through all this. She is basically the only thing that's gonna keep my happy now that we're moving. Once we finish hugging, we go and grab the last of our boxes and put them in the moving truck. I stop and stand in front of the house to look at it once more.

Mom and Janiya join not long after. We stand in silence as we think about all the good times we had in this house. "Alright, we should go now", Mom speaks up. Janiya and I just nod and go to the car in silence. "Would you like to stop and get ice cream?", Mom asks. "ICE CREAM!", Me and Janiya yell. "But Ice cream will only temporarily solve your problems", I say. "But in that short period of time, it's happy times", Janiya says. Our mom laughs at our stupidity and starts driving to Cold Stone. "Can you turn on the radio?", I ask. She turns on the radio and one of my favorite songs starts playing loudly. "This is my song!", I yell. My mom laughs and says, "You say that to every song". "Well I love every song", I say and continue to dance. Once we pull up to the ice cream shop, me and Janiya hop out the car excitedly. I start to think, then I say aloud , "I hope this new house is better then the old one. I hope there's more rooms so that I can get my own room". "I hope so too, I just hope it's not like...a creepy looking house like in the movies. You know how they move from their old homes and then show up to this creepy looking house and then they all die?", Janiya said. "Can we not think about that? Because that can actually happen", I said, with all seriousness. I turn and watch Mom as she gets out the car, she is on the phone with someone. "Who was that?", I ask. Janiya leans in so she can hear her answer. "Just some stupid kids prank calling me", she says. I laugh and ask, "What did they say?". "Oh just a bunch of nonsense like 'You're gonna regret moving into this house, you better stay in your hometown or else' in a weird voice", she says casually. Me and Janiya exchange looks. "Mom?", Janiya questions, "How did they know we were moving?". "Because we haven't exactly told our friends we were moving yet. We didn't want any more stress during the moving process", I said. I know it's kind of dumb to not tell our friends, but it would only break our hears more to see them so upset. Now we can just text them we moved and then just ignore their calls when the don't understand what we just told them. It does sound very messed up, I know. "It was probably just our neighbors then", she says, still not understanding how weird it sounds. "Anyway let's go get ice cream", she says with a smile. I try and shrug it off and just enjoy the smell inside of cold stone. It smells like sweet waffle cones. We order our ice cream and we sit outside and eat it. "I'm gonna miss this place", I say before eating a giant spoonful. Mom starts laughing and I look over at Janiya and see she has also shoved a giant spoonful of ice cream in her mouth. "You guys are like giant toddlers", Mom laughs again. I try not to laugh because I have a mouthful of ice cream. Janiya fails not to laugh and her ice cream almost falls out of her mouth. "Eww!", I yell after finishing the ice cream in my mouth. We all go into a laughing fit. There was nothing funny in particular, but we couldn't stop laughing. These are the most precious moments with family. "So your uncle is gonna meet us at the new house. He has a surprise for you", Mom says after we all have calmed down," Hopefully it will make you guys happier". I like surprises, although it kills me to wait to find out what it is. Janiya on the other hand will ask a lot of questions. "What is it? Do you even know what it is? Can we play with it? Is it a car?!", She spits out as many questions as mom will let her. "Calm down child! I have no idea what the surprise is, and if I did I wouldn't tell you because then it won't be a surprise", Mom says. Janiya fake pouts and says, "Fine". We finish up our ice cream and start making our way to the new house. It's going to be a long drive, so why don't I tell a little bit about myself. My full name is Skylar Paige and I am 15 years old. My only sibling is my twin sister Janiya. Our Mothers name is Jocelyn, but we just call her Mom. Our Dads name was Sean, he was so funny. My ethnicity is African American and Caucasian. My hair is light brown and super curly and I have greenish-blue eyes. I guess you can say I'm a girly girl, but I do have my tom-boyish moments. I'm really into music, just like my dad. I like to think that I can sing and play a bunch of instruments. I also played volleyball and did competitive cheerleading. I'm a very active child. Janiya is the opposite of me, she is tomboy but she has her girly moments. We do have a lot in common though. We look alike and we both like music, of course there is more, but you'll find all that out later. Janiya is more artsy, she likes to draw, and I think she is very good at it. But enough about me and my family because we're almost at the new house. I must say that there is a lot of trees in the area. It's actually very dense. "Am I the only one who is getting weird vibes right now", Janiya asks. I shake my head and say, "it does feel a little weird". Mom just shrugs it off as always. A few minutes later, we pull up to a suspicious/creepy looking house. And I immediately say over and over to myself "please not let this be the house". I'm guessing I didn't pray hard enough because Mom yells, "Welcome to our new house girls!"
