MACKENZIE'S P.O.V:

"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit... We're gonna die... we're gonna-"

"Shut up Alex!" I yelled.

Currently, we're sitting behind a slot machine praying to the moon goddess neither of our parents see, or smell, us.

"But what are we gonna do, Kenzie?" She asked quietly.

"We need to get out of here. We can't go through the front doors, so look for a back door"

I started to look for an exit, but I couldn't find one. The only way out was through the front doors and it was heavily guarded. I turned around and saw a door with a sign that said 'staff entrance'.

"Alex" I whispered.

"Yeah?"

"Look, there's the staff entrance. There has to be a back door in there" I told her, nodding my head towards the direction where our only chance of escaping was located.

She nodded her head at me and we started to crawl. Just when we reached the bar, we heard gun shots being fired followed by agonizing screams. We quickly flung our bodies behind the bar. After few minutes later, everything and everyone was silent. I looked over at Alex and saw her frightened expression, saying I was scared, was an understatement.

'This is your fault Alex!' I mind linked her.

'Okay, let's not fight here' she said shakily.

'Oh my gosh, I can't believe your putting me through this, I should have never listened to you'

'Oh, shut up Kenzie! I'm just as scared as you are, but honestly, I don't want to fight with you here'

'Why not? It's not like we're going to make it out of here alive!'

'Well-' she began to say, but a masculine voice cut her off.

"Boss, we arrested the rouges. Should we bring them down to the pack prison or the interrogation room?" The same voice asked.

Alex and I looked at each other at the same time. 'Rouges', we both mouthed to each other. I was lost in thought, when the same scent from earlier invaded my senses. The sweet smell of lemon filled the air, something that seemed to make me forget my fears. I wanted to draw myself closer, but held back. The smell seemed to be sweet, comforting and welcoming. Similar to a trap, once you're in, you can't get out. My wolf immediately perked up.

'Kenzie' Alex interrupted.

'Yeah?'

'They said rouges, you don't think...'

'I hope not' I replied.

"I don't want them anywhere near the pack. Take the filths to the far side of town, in the cemented jail" a husky voice said. My wolf started to purr, I began to get goosebumps all over my body, and a shiver ran down my back.

What the fuck?

I snapped out of my daze, when I heard a sob. More importantly, my mothers. I peered my head up and saw the whole casino empty. The only one's in it were me, Alex, our parents, and the police. I saw my dad, mom, and Alex's parents in handcuffs. Just when I was going to go and stop them, a hand grabbed my wrist. I looked down to see Alex stop me, she was furiously shaking her head no.

'Alex, let go. Our parents are in danger' I told her, get out of her grasp.

'Kenzie, I won't lose you' she told me.

'You won't!"

'No'

'Alex, stop being childish!'
