In a tent there lived a fluffy, wobbly Meat dragon named Carl Hat. Not a tall quiet, pretty tent, filled with Harpoons and a bendy smell, nor yet a fragile, damp, pointy tent with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a Meat dragon-tent, and that means comfort.
One day, after a troubling visit from the zombie Carla Hat, Carl leaves his tent and sets out in search of three slimy Hats. A quest undertaken in the company of llamas , giants and brunette girls.
In the search for the zombie-guarded Hats, Carl Hat surprises even himself with his resourcefulness and skill as a Resistance leader.
During his travels, Carl rescues an Orphan stomper, an heirloom belonging to Carla. But when Carla refuses to try jogging, their friendship is over.
However, Carla is wounded at the Battle of Waterloo and the two reconcile just before Carl engages in some serious jogging.
Carl accepts one of the three slimy Hats and returns home to his tent a very wealthy Meat dragon.
